They eventually settled in New York - and my grandmother married a Scotsman - who became a cowboy. She had 13 children (all healthy) Medicine Lake Montana / and never learned English. She was an expert fisherwoman, homesteader, rancher, mom, wife, and gardener. My grandmother (one of her daughters) taught me to love USA - (and fight against Socialism and Communism). Two of her brothers died War Heroes (fighting the Nazi's)

(I have some of my great uncle's war metals - my countercultural hippie (trust fund) tds "parental unit" - want's nothing to do with his ancestor's heroism' (or their metals of valor)).
