Just for the hell of it, I took out my Inspector Alert to monitor the Radioactivity in this snow storm...
The Pancake style Inspector Alert is calibrated and only monitors Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and X-ray emissions. It does not pick up background radiation...
Base reading inside was only 0.012 mR/hr (uSv/hr)...
Outside in the snow pack was 5 times above base level at 0.064 mR/hr (uSv/hr)...
Is anyone getting any HOT readings from this Snow Storm???
It would be interesting to see what States are being effected by this...
Remember don't eat the HOT snow especially if there are Alpha particles in them...

I live down the end of a decommissioned nuclear power plant in the background levels here are very high (50-100 cpm) on an aircraft at altitude my inspector plus with pancake probe reads well over 1000 CPM
