When chernobyl happened, on average dose on ground level here in finland was the same. 0,4 µSv/h - and you get an alert from automated radiation monitoring network set up in country. 30 µSv/h for that, who has received radiation therapy. He gets home after the count, from one meter away, is below this. 100 µSv/h is when you need to get inside. New Hampshire shore, Dover/Portsmouth area has 50316cpm. That is 132 µSv/h. |

Quoting: DuckNCover The Pancake style Inspector Alert is calibrated and only monitors Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and X-ray emissions. It does not pick up background radiation... Base reading inside was only 0.012 mR/hr (uSv/hr)... Outside in the snow pack was 5 times above base level at 0.064 mR/hr (uSv/hr)... Is anyone getting any HOT readings from this Snow Storm??? It would be interesting to see what States are being effected by this... Remember don't eat the HOT snow especially if there are Alpha particles in them... It would take about 5 Rads per hour to do any serious injury... Still Alpha particles stay within the body and accumulate... You need only one hot particle in your lungs to kill you (slowly) and Geiger counter won’t be able to detect it. But if it detects elevated radiation level, there is a chance that there may be hot particles around. Somebody has to say it Could high radioactive particles be why the mask mandates for OUTDOORS? Don’t get me wrong - I don’t believe “the government” Gives a hoot about any one of us or our health ... But that earth-facing CME - could that send SPACE radiation into our atmosphere ? My inspector Alert only can monitor Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and X-ray emissions. It can NOT pick up Radon or any other Natural Earth emitting radiation. Quoting: Major Doom Anyway, was just out this morning to fix a problem. [link to www.youtube.com (secure)] Breakers throwing because of electric heater, and it means he circuit is overloaded. NEVER reset a breaker until you figure out why it tripped in the first place or your next video may be of your house burning down. They can actually weld themselves on if yout reset them with a big overload. Running 5 to 7 amperes on a 50 ampere breaker doesn't cause an overload. Problem was traced to an old extension cord.
