I never liked split pea soup. I've made it several times thinking I just didn't get it right. Mr liked it so I guess it's just not my thing.

I made it too strong. I'm a wimp when it comes to liquor. I didn't have any more Koolaid so I added some Blueberry Lavender Vitamin water. It's damn good. I'll have to remember that for next time.

Just yesterday I mentioned Jeremy Irons. Very cool actor and restored a shell of a castle beautifully.

So we'll be making ho made scratch fat fett pasta with a mock pancetta sauce using bacon.

I've no idea what if anything to cook this morning.

The cats and I survived the ice storm, still have power, and so many trees are down around us. They won't even go outside. Probably too scary for them.

Oh dear Louis! I hope you keep power and stay warm! It's snowing a little here but nothing significant. We are supposed to get a storm or two later this week.

I have started the hazelnut 'crunchy chocolate cookies' I posted a few pages back. Hopefully I won't eat all the sugared nuts before I make them into the praline paste. I ate a couple of them right after I toasted them..sooo good.

pool, I hope we get to see a photo of your homemade pasta. Since it is just me and ms. gluten free I never get to eat good pasta anymore.

Homemade pasta with a sauce made from bacon...what more could one ask for?! Yummmmm!

OH, I just got a whole bag of hazelnuts. We were going to just eat them but I'll keep this in mind if they sit in the cupboard for a while.

Louis, I can't figure out tonight's diner either. I like to try & plan ahead, get something out of the freezer the night before but I didn't so her I am...

I don't like cherries much, but it would have made it pretty.

It's 72 F in the house and I am freezing.

I already had bacon last night--my second meal in one day, a BLT, so I probably should not eat today.

I hope the gym wasn't too crowded. I miss being able to move much. I put in over twenty five miles of walking every week, now a twenty foot walk across the house has me falling down in pain.

Cherries would be good on it, but if I make a cheesecake, for some reason I am personally insulted when someone alters how it is served. I have pride in the things I make be they edible, technical, or spiritual.

I hope I answered everyone, I just could not quote properly.

Maybe you did something else with some of that whipped cream?

We keep our house at 62 in the winter, although to be fair it is toasty by the woodstove. Cats often regard people as heated furniture, perhaps a symbiosis could be attained?


I'm sorry to hear about your mobility struggles. Is it something physical therapy could help with?

While I am waiting for the hazelnut cookies to set up, I made a batch of gluten free cut outs for my daughter who is home. It was just a small batch and although the cookies look nice, they taste like dust. Gluten free= sad for this Minnesota girl. I like my wheat.

All the issues can be fixed, but I have been in a legal battle with my bank who I am suing in Federal Court.

If I take have the needed surgeries I will be bedridden for months and they will foreclose on my home immediately. They have refused to allow me to make payments on it for four years and demand about a $100,000 deposit before I may resume payments.

Had they waited for me to pay it back on my suggested schedule it would have been paid back in six months and would have been current over three and one-half years ago.

So instead I am trapped and am trying to get a Federal Judge to rule in my favor. If they wanted the home so bad they could have taken it four years ago. I'm praying their refusal to accept payments for four years and constant harassment is enough to rule in my favor.

Mrs. already knows the banks lawyers and individual family members have their names on ammunition. If I lose the home I will have nothing to lose and will take all of them with me. I've known that for three years now.

He was bummed as it is raining again today. Perhaps we will get a little break and can ride our bikes around home a little.

No one is in the mood to cook, so we will most likely end up having leftover beans. i'll make some fresh cornbread to go with it.

The hazelnut cookies things were a bust. I measured everything really carefully but the hazelnuts never went to a paste like consistency so the cookie part was very dry and crumbly and then when I dipped them into the melted chocolate they just dissolved. So I stirred it all in and dropped it by spoonfuls onto parchment paper. At least we'll have some kind of nutty cornflake clusters.


Can't waste chocolate! It might be good stirred into some vanilla ice cream...maybe a milkshake with some choccy vodka?

Having both ham for breakfast Saturday and a BLT for dinner I've no need to eat today.

Yet I could, I still have power, it's still 72 F in the house, the cats are depressed because they won't go outside and 177,643 homes are without power around me.

I have been very blessed during this storm.

In Italian, it's "La Festa Degli Innamorati" (the party of/for lovers).
