Re: Food with Attitude!
That is an awesome cat!

I discovered a new series on SyFy - "Resident Alien"

He's an alien who assumed the identity of a doctor living outside of town. When the town doctor is later found dead the Sheriff asks him to come to town since they need a doctor to examine the body.

Mayor snowflake then gives everyone his phone number and they all start calling him and he becomes the town doctor going to work every day at the clinic.

Edit to add his arch enemy is a six year old boy who is the only person out of the one thousand in town that sees him as an alien. So he keeps giving the kid the finger saying he's going to kill him everytime he sees him.

I need to make some chili pretty soon. Mr likes it, but not often. This is about the 3rd time I've mentioned it, so I'm planting the idea in his head.

Louis, it's not wrong to feel that way. She makes your life far too difficult. I understand you feel a responsibility to her, but you deserve to live in peace.I am always hoping things will work out for you! hugs
 Quoting: Paranoiaaaaa

I'm certain he would like it! Thank you too for caring, I've met the kindest souls in God's creation here.

I got an email from the post office yesterday about your town! Thank you. hugs
 Quoting: Louis in Richmond

You got an email already? That was fast! I guess that means I don't need to send you the tracking.
 Quoting: Paranoiaaaaa

Yes and another one today to remind me it will be here Monday. Thank you so much!

FedEx and the Post Office both notify me of packages. The post office goes one step further and emails me a photograph of piece of my mail one or two days before delivery and if I used my office address any package is also x-rayed before it reaches me in my now unused over a year office.
 Quoting: Louis in Richmond

I get the emails, too. It seems I don't usually get them until the day before it arrives. Or, maybe I just don't pay enough attention. 1dunno1

Hi folks. Hope all is as well as can be. It's been a bit of a crazy year this end hence my absence. Saying that I think it's been crazy for everyone. Glad to see another foodie thread though and to see some of you still here. Cottage pie was on the menu tonight with a few mixed vegetables. Nothing too exciting but a full belly and smile. Sometimes I think the simple things are the best. Cheers para for the invite x

That's the problem I had two weeks ago and couldn't upload Lance' pictures.

Tonight was weird as I could not highlight and copy text so had to restart Chrome which kept opening edge in new Windows instead of allowing me to reply.

I see my laptop is installing another 2021-02 cumulative update so that may be why it is wonky.

Even my cellular WIFI modem updated its firmware earlier today. I forgot what I was writing as it took ten minutes and two reboots to complete.

I just told the laptop to reboot at 10:55. Mrs. is worried since I'm not eating so I may go see if anything looks appealing.

Gluten free veggie lasagna for Ms. Picky.
The secret to the Barilla Gluten Free noodles is cook them for at least an hour and use plenty of sauce. I made a small pan (8x11) and used all but 3 of the noodles in the pkg and a quart of our homemade sauce from the garden -this is the 'before' pic but we don't do anything as fancy as that awesome video pool posted.

Wow that looks great!

My dinner will not be photo worthy, it is my chili left over special--chili soup!

I cook about one-third cup of bowtie noodles about four minutes short of ready, then combine them with one cup of chili, one cup of water, and one beef bullion cube in a microwave bowl and nuke 'em until it boils which allows the not quite done noodles to soak up some of the extra cup of water.

Chili becomes chili soup!

I am thank you. I hope yours's is too, you are so very hardworking and seem to never have time to rest or treat yourself to something wonderful.

I would cook and bring you a dinner were you my neighbor!

And now for something completely different, possibly scary...

This new Surface Book Pro does not have the Samsung "SideSync" software installed on it neither does my phone, that's Samsung's App to connect their phone to your PC or Laptop.

Yet the gov version of Win 10 20H2 2021-02 sees my phone that I just took this picture with as if it were plugged into the laptop when I opened the file explorer. I had wondered what this version of Windows could get into.

I can ever scroll through the phone's pictures, address book, everything as if it were plugged in as it had to be with my old laptop.

Okay, I have to ask... what is siracha pepper? Do you mean sriracha in the liquid form, or do they make that stuff as a flake or powdered now? If so, I gots to get me some of that!

Follow up question: do you prefer real maple syrup for your waffles or some other kind of sweetener? Honey?

This thread is a great way to stimulate the appetite. Thanks to all the posters on here hf

I prefer real Maple Syrup but in a pinch, non-HFC syrup works.

I get siracha pepper in powder form, but since I wasn't sure about it before first using it I only bought a four oz. bottle of it.

It has a very different kick from white pepper or the coarsely ground pepper that goes on pizza.

That reminds me of the band Yes 'Hang on, Hang on; Maybe there's another way to do this!'

She had no income last year. I'll have the tax preparer file mine under injured spouse classification so I'll get an immediate tax refund and they will not deduct what she owes [and will have already paid] the county from my refund.

Or a manager that wants overtime and is personally delivering magic cookie packages in his USPS car, not a mail truck.

Our mail was running four weeks late behind COVID in late November through January and neither CA nor US postal facilities are made with two meter separation in mind.

The delivery works fine, they can't get it sorted at the main post office for Central Virginia, and I assume this is happening at dozens of postal sorting centers across CA and the US.

I wonder if they are short of help because of Covid. Not necessarily that so many people are sick, but perhaps had to be tested because they worked beside someone was positive?

I'm not sure if they even made sense! tounge

At my son-in-laws work, his wife was sick. He wasn't sick, nor was he positive. They made him stay out 10 days past the date his wife tested negative. That really hurt since they don't really have backup people. He works on a tug boat so it's not like they can hire temps!

She cute and what a nice caption. Girl Scout Cookies were baked in Richmond until maybe a decade ago, now I have idea where they come from.

I have problems with the Jacksonville hub. I've had a package sit there for a week before even moving. I've heard in a forum of one hub being described as a black hole, I think it was Dallas?

My last shipment of RSO sat in Richmond at the mail sorting center for over three weeks before they delivered it. Since then our US Senators and some Congress members [their actual offices are in Richmond like mine] raised quite a stink over mail delays. I can only guess that is why they are doing two day delivery on packages even on Sunday now.

And its always slow. It took close to a month for Lance to get his package sent last summer. It sat in Niagara Falls, NY for a week, Toronto for a week, then another week and a half in Vancouver before the drunker Indian rode across the mud flats to delivered it to Lance' Island.

More Worrisome was the Postal Clerk didn't know that Roberts Creek, BC with letters in the zip code in addition to numbers was not in the US.

I had to point that out to her and she had to create new shipping and tracking tags so it would show up on both USPS and Canada Post while in transit. How many packages must get lost for them applying the wrong tracking labels to the packages?!?
