I wish I could offer to take one for the team and save you from chocolate Louis!

We had fancy take away tonite. Fried chicken (fried in duck fat) and ribs and arugula salad and strawberry sorbet with a swirl of blood orange curd running through it. It was a good way to end the second 12 hour shift since Monday.

That sounds wonderful!!! The fried chicken a la duck sounds like something I'd like to try.

I like dark chocolate with very little sugar. Milk chocolate never.

Well after the cake, a quarter cup of pretzels, and a corned beef sammich it is finally up to 56.

I took insulin this morning when I had my cup of coffee at 7:00 AM and haven't eaten until tonight or taken any.

I told myself when I went into home isolation I would eliminate my need for insulin and it appears I am slowly reaching that goal. There may be no meds available in the near future!

I am fortunate as far as health goes. Aside from being overweight, I don't have any problems. But that can change at any time. I try to keep active and eat right most of the time but I do like to eat. I compromise by eating one meal a day and making it worth it.

yawn long day here and I'm starting to get sleepy.

Goodnight all

I'm trying.

I have discovered getting stoned eliminates my need for insulin.

I ate a cannabutter cookie about three hours ago and took no insulin and now my blood sugar is off-scale low below 40.

Human normal is 80 to 100. I begin going blind below 35.

I have no hunger yet am now forced [I'm being serious] to eat a piece of chocolate cake [I hate damned chocolate] so I do not go unconscious and die.

I only knew it was at 40 because I set an alarm to check it two hours after eating the cookie.

I already know weed is the cure for glaucoma and many types of pain.

Lance 'warned me' RSO can also cure diabetes and my having to eat chocolate cake that I don't even like to keep my blood sugar high enough to not go into a coma and die was not something I expected tonight.

Other than that all is well, but it kinda killed my buzz as I find chocolate disgusting.

Good Lord Louis! This sounds a bit more scary than it seems you want to let on. I get that, but I'm also gonna add a little prayer for you.

I'm glad you are aware and check when you know you should though. Thank God. Fine line.

I had no idea cannabis affected blood sugar that much! Please be careful!

I wonder, does it make a difference eating it rather than smoking?

I made pot of spaghetti sauce today so we had pizza tonight. I used up few slices of havarti, provolone plus mozzarella, American. I just had mushrooms as usual, but Mr added onions, peppers, bacon bits, & a leftover hamburger.

Cannabis makes me lose my appetite.

I would think it should be the other way as I always hear of people getting the munchies but it dulls my appetite instead of raises it.

I do that too; if it drops I awaken but I'm not hungry.

I swear the first time that happened the sheet and blanket were violently yanked off of me as I heard a loudly yelled "WAKE UP!".

I did a blood stick test and it was below 40 and I had to get something with sugar in it.

The only reinforced my belief we have unseen Angels that watch over us.

I agree..angels are around us all the time, some unseen and in plain sight too.

Believe it or not..you have all been angels for me at one time or another. This whole year has been really tough.

But I'm running late for the start of another day and I see some clear sky so hello to the sun!

Stay well, and very grateful for all of you! (as well as those mysterious voices!)

At 1:47 my son was born (Pacific) 20 years ago today! 3/3/2001 1:47 so a 3 3 3 3...lol...He was here last weekend so I didn't go across the pond. I'm making kefalotyri (a traditional flamed and fried Greek cheese) quesadillas, tinned dolmanthes and a variation on a caprese salad (yet to be determined what). I swear I could eat a caprese every day. And mostly do!

BC is flooded with cherry tomatoes due to 'covid' since they normally all get exported to the US, hence dirt cheap. Everytime the store is got to, bocconchini seems to be on sale (close to expiry but it lasts longer then they say). And basil is cheap. The dressing is a balsamic glaze [link to nonnapias.com (secure)] with strawberry and fig. Odd sounding dinner! Lol...

That sounds sooooo good Lance. There used to be a little Greek diner that made that cheese dish here but they closed a few years back.
I am having popcorn for dinner. My friend grew it. I popped it in coconut oil and added a little melted Kerrygold butter and some salt. (I see I need to clean up all the yarn wrappers under my monitor. lol)

Yes, me too. Brain dead today as I worked with a Microsoft Engineer until 19:30 EST.

I sent a scathing email today demanding a phone call at 5:00 PM from Microsoft and two of their Government Sector managers were on line in a Teams meeting with me fifteen minutes before the engineer came on and they sat through our server repair session.

"We need our service call escalated as the contractor has not been available after 5:00 PM, cannot be understood on the phone, and takes two to three days to reply by email any time I send server logs to them. I have worked with real Microsoft support in the past—they will work at night; they will call on weekends.

The service we are currently receiving is second-rate, accomplishing nothing, and I pray you do not ask me to rate the support because you will get an honest answer from me and it will be far less kind than I have written here despite my desire to be kind..."

The squeaky wheel gets the grease!

We completed one of two needed fixes and I have a task running he said will take hours to complete so I'll see how it looks tomorrow.

I'm gonna go make a sammich, I have Cajun roast beef, pepper jack cheese, and horseradish sauce to go with it.

I've some garlic sauced cauliflower to enjoy with it.

Lol...

As far as I knew they were still at my local grocery; I only buy Canadian tomatoes in Winter and bought a four tomato cluster this past week.

Yours would be from Ontario...too far to ship tomatoes to yer neck of the woods from BC. If you look at the tomato trade between both countries, I hope you have a spare 2 years to unravel the mysteries of 'why'? It's a 'boondoggle'...lol...I did like it that when Heinz (American presumably) abandonded their ketchup farms and plants in Leamington Ontario, that French's bought the bottling plants and spared the farmers and now it is all Canuck.

I used to play in hockey tournaments in Leamington, not that far from Brantford really, and have fond recollections of those days. Being billeted and sneaking out was always the best thing. Don't miss the smell of dressing rooms...

You and your beef Louis! Cajun roast beef sounds wonderful!
I am just too tired to cook tonite or drive back to town to get some kind of takeout. We live too far out for any delivery.

Feel free to post pics for our vicarious enjoyment!

Re: Food with Attitude!
Most of the posters may recall my divorce awhile back, with the MK woman, Di. She was shocked at my son when he was cutting the lawn to learn what he was listening to in his earbuds. This might not be the exact one (he's out with friends, won't pester him) but something akin to this. [link to soundcloud.com (secure)] She ran up and said 'he's listening to a history of where vegetables come from podcast'...lol...

WHile you are cooking, and if so inclined, it is neat to listen to things about the history of food, how it formed cultures (ya ain't got no culture without agriculture), and the impacts of novel foods upon the common people. Intriguing to learn, interesting to be in the stream (30 years ago had anyone heard of quinoa or acai?), and add to it uniquely.

That is super cool...always learning. Unfortunately some of us had hippie parents in the 60s and 70s and heard of and ate quinoa and also carob. just why?
chuckle

But they were hippie parents in central Iowa so caramel colored wonder bread was 'whole wheat' and although we weren't allowed any cereal with added sugar (only cheerios, cornflakes, and rice krispies..no commercial granola), my mom did buy oreos (my friend's mom made all home made cookies and bread)

I will have to check some of those out. Very intriguing!

Is this your youngest turning 20 Lance?
