Why do those taste so good? If I could package after school specials and the joy of being home alone with no homework on a rainy afternoon it would taste like totinos pizza.

It really does seem like it now lol. It's a pretty big role and so far so good, but I'm only 2 days in. This weekend will be a true test!

I had a Greek salad with grilled chicken. It was good and all, but my hunger isn't satisfied lol.

I can snack on macadamia nuts before bed if needed.

Pizza sounds much better haha!! But I have to be good or my belly will punish me in the morning.

We got lucky. The storm passed by us just off the coast. I had the freezers packed with ice ready for the power to go out. Never did. Now we don't have to make ice for 2 weeks! Lol

You have a lot of willpower to stick to your diet so well.

I used to snack on nuts a lot. It's one of the few things I could have on my cancer diet. I got tired of them, but now they're sounding good again.

Sea salt roasted macadamia nuts have become a 'thing' around here :)

I've never been a big macadamia person. Mr likes them though. I love cashews and pecans although Ill eat just about any nut. I'll have to look for it those Emerald packs to go on sale.

I did.

It was a squirrelly day. We found Scar who was being bullied as you can see from his back. We haven't seen him in weeks and thought something had happened to him.

We were walking quite a bit down the road and I heard him crying in the tree. I know they probably all sound the same, but something made me go find the tree where it was coming from. As soon as he saw me, he came running!

The video came out blurry, but you can see, he is quite the prepper!



Then a family saw us feeding him and came over to show us their little treasure. They had found a baby in their yard after the storm. They tried to let it go and it came back so she's not ready to leave "Mama" just yet. I got a pic, but my Imgur is acting up.

I've always kept treats in my pockets for my park puppies. It was Mr's idea to bring peanuts for the squirrels. I just seem to have a way if talking to just about any critter to make it understand that it's ok to be friends.

Mr knew I was just a bit jealous of the lady who found the baby squirrel. I would so take care of it. Not that I could keep it. Butters would be ok, but the other cats wouldn't be so nice.

Since our cat died last summer, I've been using the cat food as crow feed. I feed 3 separate 'murders' of the things daily if timing allows. Pretty soon (it's an Indian Summer here), when people thin out a bit, I'll get to hand feeding them! They recognize my hat, and stride! Greedy...lol...

They know where their food comes from!

We used to feed grackles and sometimes a few crows when we used to sit outside at Dunkin. I could get some to take from my hand.

The tourists would be amazed, well most. Some were scared, I guess they had seen The Birds.

I made a soft taco bake. It was just a mix that I added some red beans to give it more substance. I wasn't a fan of the cheese mix it came with so we shredded our own cheddar on it.

So it's their turn to cook tonight. Instead of girlfriend cooking, my son says he is going to fry chicken with some coating mix he bought. Ok, his cooking is better than hers i would say.

Problem is, he doesn't get home until 6. I'm trying to figure out how long this is going to take. I know I'ma slow cook, but maybe he can do it faster. It takes me a few hours to fry enough chicken for 7 people. Am I the only one that slow?

He got a new cast iron skillet the maybe he wants to use.

Anyhoo, just wondering what time we'll actually be able to sit down, eat & watch shows.

We usually alternate between movies & a show. This week, it should be Battlestar Galactica. We had to force Girlfriend to try it. For some reason, she thought it was like Star Trek. I dunno, she always tried to steer us away from watching it even though she clearly enjoys it. Now, I think she likes it, but doesn't want to admit it maybe.

Why are people so difficult? I didn't used to get along with her, but for the sake of my son, I let up. She is better than she used to be, but sometimes, I still wanna give her shaken baby syndrome!

My son made Fried chicken sandwiches which were good & Girlfriend made something she called mac & cheese.
