Food with Attitude!

It is really hit and miss with frozen fish filets hey...I've gone so far as to toss a half a box out because it was 'carp'. Here, we have Keiths which is really good and this week for 'discount plus rewards Tuesday' we're going to try another fish.

You're absolutely right about the hit or miss. I have thrown them out too when they were just mush on the inside. Have read that's probably from cooking them frozen. But have also had some decent ones. You just never know.

Agreed! I'm not sure if I would like the fish or not to be honest. Is it just like a white fish? I know I don't care for salmon or tilapia.

We were out with the neighbors a while. Woody let his 3rd cousin sit on the bike with him. She's so cute. Unfortunately her daddy died 2 yrs ago from lung cancer.

It would taste more like tilapia than salmon. Honestly you really just taste the breading, so I should have just had some pintos. The fried cabbage, I have to say, was delicious.

I would probably giggle, too.

I didn't eat much dinner. I've been existing on my peanut butter yogurt milkshakes. It seems to be working though. I don't think I've gained back but maybe 5 lbs. Hell 2 or 3 is probably water since he told me to eat more salt.

It's kind of hard though. After being as low salt as I was, I'm so conditioned. I almost feel guilty when I eat something salty.

So sipping on a milkshake watching some Tom MacDonald videos. Now that I have headphones, I can usually make out most of the words. He's got a pretty down to earth message...

Yep. Switching from heat to A/C every day.

It doesn't really get cold in an our house as long as it's sunny out. We only turn on our when it's really cold, maybe 2-3 times a year.

The first time we turn it on always sets the smoke alarms off. At least we've learned to turn it on during the day now. A couple of years ago we just flipped it on before we went to bed because it was supposed to be really cold that night. Those smoke alarms in the middle of the night really pisses him off!!

We just had a couple cold nights in row here, down around 32.

yeah, that's cold! Its weird how much of a difference there is in the same state.

We had grilled burgers, mine on rye bread and baked beans with pumpkin cheesecake for dessert. I could actually have dessert!

We just got home from our first bike ride together. It was quite a ride. I'm sooo not used to that type of a bike! We need to make a few changes. He's going to put pegs on the back for me instead of the floor boards. I don't feel like I can hold on without them. I'm used to pegs.

Then we were trying to scope out a property for Ted. We ended up riding unexpectedly straight into a gravel and sugar sand road. We thought we were going down, but he held it until I got off. I had to help push that heavy bitch out. It was an experience!

Then we came home to the most perfect thing from our neighbors!

Tonight: slow cooker pulled pork with canned chipotle peppers in their sauce...red peppers and red onions on wraps. Prolly good for 2 meals each! For some reason, pork tenderloin here is rather cheap? Not sure what it is elsewhere, but I do recall from my years on the Coast that a buddy of mine (German used to host large World Cup events) comes into Vancouver when he seems them on sale (most versatile cut really), fills up his van with them, drives back quickly and has 5 freezers full of them!

Glad your adventure ended well Para! I dumped my bike on a road like that once. I just tipped it over, ever so gently and neither me nor the bike was hurt but I can't imagine having to worry about the safety of my passenger! Good driving Woody!

I am much better than I was last week. Yesterday was only 7 pool. lol...I wasn't expecting anyone and made a giant pot of venison stew with carrots, parsnips, rutabaga, potatoes and onions, with a little good red wine. I was thinking that we could have it for lunches all week. Lol, it was so good that there were NO leftovers. I only had a small serving and when I went back later for seconds it was all gone.

Luckily I also had a rotisserie chicken carcass from when I was sick so I made a pot of chicken and rice soup for lunches.

Tonite was chicken curry and a salad. We are going to be eating lots of salad this week from the garden clean out before it froze.

Yep he handled it well. That was the whole reason he rode it plenty by himself first to make sure he was completely comfortable with it. The Honda we had was an automatic so it had been probably 15 years since he had a bike he had to shift.

He has crash bars on the front so he knew he had some protection while I did not. We decided we want to get the roll bars for the back that go in front of the saddle bags for me. They're $160 but we'll save up and it certainty can't hurt. It actually will make the bike look even beefier.

Glad your soup was a hit and you even had something to fall back on.

Ive been lazy and didn't get anything out of the freezer. Eggs is our go to quick meal lately. So I fried canned mushrooms up in wine and butter and scrambled eggs with them and topped with cheddar. Also air fries, spam, and rye toast. Way more food than I can eat, Big eyes or however that goes...

been quite a looong ass day for me. 10am emergency room, 5 hour hallway wait, temp room and staples 2 hours, 8pm got relative into neuro step-down room, home by 9pm. trust me, they were quite negligent and sloppy, but after 11&5 (did I say) sloppy staples by a teenage er doctor, maybe the old fellow will be around another decade.
