My last ho made gravy attempt was a disaster.

Last night's weed was beyond good, it was crippling.

Today I've taken off at noon and just fixed a thin sliced corned beef sammich.

My neighbor gave me some butter that was crippling a few weeks ago.
No more space toast for me.

I put a stew in the crockpot this am but now I want corned beef.

Speaking of crippling butter, today I am making another batch of my "green" peanut butter cookies.

After they are finished, I'm sure my other work will flow along.rastabanan

Re: Food with Attitude!
I made a soup today with potatoes, mushrooms and pea protein powder. Here’s the recipe:

1 russet potato, peeled
1 cup mushrooms, chopped
1/2 a white onion, chopped
1 tspn of coconut oil
1/4 cup half and half-optional, and should be omitted going forward into spring but today it tasted good
1 scoop pea protein isolate powder
Salt and pepper to taste

Put all ingredients in a pan and cover with water. Simmer for 1 hour and blend. Serve with a can of Red Bull.

This is a complete meal and makes an amazing lunch.

Re: Food with Attitude!
It all looks so wonderful!! I would LOVE corned beef right now, but living in the country - not driving to town means waiting until I brine some myself.

It will taste all the better for the wait though.

I got home from work around 6:15, ate a bowl of stew and fell asleep. Have you ever been so tired you have to eat while leaning on your other hand so you don't fall asleep in your food? lol

And where has pool gone? I miss her
hugs

That steak and that chicken pasta too. I don't eat seafood, but I would combine those two..instead of surf and turf, it could be fur and feathers? except that doesn't sound as appetizing
chuckle
But chickens don't really fly, so 'land and sky' doesn't work either.

Glad to see everyone

Sounds like great dinner, great cookies, and great grilling with a river view.

No pics of our afternoon and evening. I took off work at noon, Mrs. let me nap two hours.

She had previously watched about ten hours on shopping unadvertised specials at Walmart on YouTube which she had on in the background as I worked today.

So we went, and she got a 20" machete, artist pastel markers for $15 off, boots for $1, firestarters under a dollar, I bought five micro HDMI, HDMI, Display port, and DVI adaptors for the price of two online, so I can get at least two monitors of the three video outputs my laptop and PC connected and each was on closeout, and as I needed a new air compressor I checked near automotive and there was one that though marked $129, its scanned at $49 with my phone so I bought it.

I couldn't believe how much we saved today. Items vary store to store and since they may be slow sellers or almost out of stock they mark them way down and you need to scan the barcode at the store you are shopping at. They show as out of stock on line though the store may have a dozen of them.

I learned the only way to shop there now.

Today's brunch shall be chili, I'm thawing ground beef now, and I'll add diced onions, diced peppers, sweet corn, cayenne pepper and chili powder. In Lance' commemoration I am adding no beans, he says real chili doesn't have them!

Edit to add: I still have canned Hatch chili peppers I smuggled from Texas to Virginia--they are going in too!

Oh and when I sent an email to our section and three others that usually call me directly vs. routing it through help saying I was leaving at noon I got this message in Teams from our boss--our new team lead is as much of a smart-ass as I am.

It's nice today so we can stop at St Simons and walk on the beach. We always try to make the trip worth it by going somewhere nice up there, too. Especially with higher gas prices now.

I can feel his tears just looking at it.

Well chili got started very late and is still simmering on the stove so no breakfast or lunch. Kroger had cans of diced tomatoes in tomato juice for $0.23 [twenty-three cents] last month so I bought a case of them.

However unlike roasted diced tomatoes, uncooked ones in tomato juice need to simmer a few hours.

I left out the precious Texas Hatch Chilies, as it is flavorful enough with a half cup each of diced peppers and onions, along with garlic, chili powder, and siracha pepper.

It's tortuous how good it smells.

Buttered egg noodles with parm!
 Quoting: Lance Roseman From BC

Well I disassembled the compressor before using it as it is an oil-less compressor and it was a lack of oil that killed the last one.

I was impressed with this one's construction--the motor and air pump are physically three times the size of the ones on the last compressor and have a cooling fan on the motor shaft to cool them. It outputs three times the air and does so at 50 lbs. more pressure than the previous one.

After disassembly, I carefully sprayed White Lithium Grease onto every moving surface and into the air pump cylinder so they will be far less prone to wearing out. The last air compressor lasted almost exactly two years before the piston shaft crank bearing failed.

This new one is adding air to my water tanks now as I write.

Chili sounds really good! We're still undecided on dinner, but we do have some chili that Nef jarred up last time he made some. Hmmmm. Your house must smell great Louis!

It went well for me, I hope yours is setting well with you too.

Inside smells heavenly.

Outside smells like Lithium Grease.

It's getting dark outside so I'm heading out to shut it down, drain any condensate from the tank, and put it safely under the house until I use it tomorrow to fill the outside water tank.

I have the very coldest water in the Winter, just a degree or two above freezing.

Iced cold water is the best! We have excellent tap water where I live. My city has its own reservoir and you really can tell the difference.

We've decided on chicken fried steak for dinner. It's not my favorite, but it's good and he LOVES it, so I'm taking one for the team. :) Everything he cooks is amazing anyway so I'll enjoy it for sure.

My day was...meh? Lol. It was an adventure. I had a dentist visit that went mortifyingly awful! My gag reflex is real and I stupidly ate right before my appointment. I won't go into much detail as this is a food thread, but it didn't end well. Went much further than just gagging unfortunately. So embarrassing. :\

After the dentist I had to take my aunt for her first dose of the guinea pig vaccine. I mean, covid vaccine. She did well. Said her arm hurt during the 15 minute 'wait period' but otherwise okay at the time.

Now I am enjoying an adult beverage while my hunny is prepping a delicious dinner. :)

Marvelous!!

My chili is ready and I bought restaurant type corn chips to serve with it.

Mrs. won't eat it or most anything I cook, she says it is weird alien food to her.

I mean come one... potatoes soup with ham or a hamburger?

She takes every opportunity to attack and put me down.

Sadly I often pray she never returns home when she visits her retired friends at the river.

I know it's wrong, however I deserve a peaceful and appreciated life and I hate posting how my life is when everyone else at least has some respect at home.

With God as my witness if I ever won a substantive prize in the lottery she will find a check on the table for one-half after taxes and I will be gone to another country, to anywhere, far from that evil woman where she can never find me.

It's not wrong for you to feel the way you do Louis. In my short time here in this thread I can already say that I don't blame you. And that you absolutely deserve love and respect. You're a beautiful soul!
