I'm thinking of a dinner where decarboxylation of THC occurs during cooking.

I'll post pics and methodology soon.

I'm new to this.

Dinner A'la Carl.

Click the arrows and see the sopressata on foil, then covered with Carl, the covered with another slice of sopressata, then ovened at 225 F for one hour, then placed on a French bread garlic pizza, then adding sausage and pepper jack cheese, then ovenning it until perfect.

Use the arrows to step though all the pics.

I've consumed many molecules.

If anyone is in need of a good series, let me recommend The Handmaid's Tale. If you have the Hulu app it's free...although the ads are brutal. I ended up purchasing season 1 via Amazon because I just don't have that level of patience. :)

Good series! Highly recommend!

Louis, I understand about the medicine. I just figured out how Mr's insurance works. I'm a little slow.1doh1

After his drug costs reach over $4100 for the year, his share goes up. His 2 diabetic meds that were $70 last month are now over $350. I'm trying to figure out how to get them. He is stubborn though. He says even if we have it, he doesn't want pat that much.

It figures. He just went to the doc and everything was good. His A1C went down to 7 and his goal is to get it under 7. He doesn't want to go back on metformin. It really screws up his gut with cramping.
 Quoting: Paranoiaaaaa

What the hell?!?!? His cost goes up?

My healthcare is by Anthem. Once we pay either $1,500 or $1,800 in copays [I forget how much], whether they are for Dr. visits, prescriptions, or trips to the E.R. once we reach that limit they cover meds and supplies at 100% and Dr. and hospital visits are a $25 copay.

For example, one of my glaucoma drops is $99 at Anthem's cost to me. So in those cases of high-cost meds I will call or email the manufacturer and get a manufacturer's discount so now my glaucoma drops only cost me $30 because the Mfr. then covers $69 of the cost. And now that we have met the $1,800 maximum those eye drops cost me nothing.

Why the heck such ridiculous differences in what healthcare covers? It's infuriating.
 Quoting: Louis in Richmond

Right? It's called a donut hole. The lady at the drug store told me that so I could look it up.It's the dumbest thing I've ever heard of! We have to pay 25% which is about $225 for one & $140 for the other, per month!

We have to spend another $2000 on drugs before the coverage kicks back in. Then in January, it starts again. That is why you hear about older folks having to choose between meds & food.

[link to www.medicareinteractive.org (secure)]

All doctor & hospital visits are covered 80%, I think after we pay a small deductible for the year, like $200?

The drug deductible is separate, I think $325. Plus the monthly premiums. They're not high compared to private plans, but if you're on SS, it's a lot.
 Quoting: Paranoiaaaaa

One of the reasons GLP exists is so we can help each other.

Can he use Humalog insulin? I will send a care package with a few month's supply if it would help. Then he would not need to use that God-awful Metformin that causes cognitive impairment.

Thank you, but He hasn't been on insulin yet. He said his doc mentioned it once but MR told him no. hugs

Well, I went ahead and got this month's supply of his shot, Ozempic. The doc wanted to double his dosage. I'm not sure if this pen is different, but if I can, I'll keep him on the half dosage he is on right now. That way, it will last him 2 months instead of 1. Hopefully!

At any rate, he is good for another month. One day, or month, at a time.

I just have a little jar of this blend of organic coconut/local raw honey/ cannabis extract that an herbalist friend makes. A dab'll do ya.

But Louis' pizza or your Mac and cheese sound good. Another friend gave me butter and said to have on a bagel. I made space toast and it sent me to the moon...or someplace where I couldn't even speak or type. Lol. I don't enjoy that kind of buzz anymore. It would have been pretty tough to grade papers.

And an air compressor inside near the back door that I need to use in the kitchen to blow out the clogged drain lines in the fridge, but the fridge and freezer part are jam-packed full so I cannot allow it to thaw for a day to insure any ice in the walls that may be blocking the drain lines has melted because the food will go bad--that is a dilemma I don't yet have a solution to.

The 1st fridge guy used a hair dryer to melt the ice. The 2nd guy it was already melted, the 3rd guy replaced the whole damn thing instead of writing-off the fridge as unrepairable. He didn't realize my insurance would buy me a new one. So, I kept the old compressor (which was working) incase the new one croaks in 8 years. I officially have a house parts closet.

OK, that BLT pizza is amazing. I'm gonna experiment with that!!

I'm having a tini party Thursday, so I've been making lemon drop to get that right. So far, meyer lemons suck, and the caster sugar hasn't arrived. So, I'll make simple syrup today and try to crush the granular sugar, and order some crushed ice, or start on hammering on the cubes as well. Stocking a freezer for an alky party is different than apoolcaypse. But with the freezer still empty, there is room to freeze a dozen tini glasses. woohoo And, I need to make a finger food stuff, what goes will as a snack with vodka?

Congratulations on your parts closet! We made Meyer Lemon bars and memory said they were really good, the reality of the ones we made was not so.

It may have been three years since I drank vodka or tequila so my knowledge of a suitable finger food is nearly non-existent. FWIW I like the little sesame snack sticks you can often buy in plastic tubs near the vegetable area at a grocer. I believe they could be one item with a vodka soiree.

hmmm

Well, lemon and...It's hot down there, plus small party, keep it simple. What about something like a cold shrimp cocktail (I can't believe I'm saying that, eh Louis), some spicy nuts, crudites and pita crackers with a fancy hummus or two? (easy to make homemade or you can get something local), and something light and sweet as a dessert type option, ooooh..summer theme, you could do S'mores bars cause they are easy to make ahead and kind of corny and fun. Or stick to the more elegant theme and do little fruit tarts (shortbread base/creme fraiche-cream cheese type base/fresh berries +/- a little glaze. or super simple strawberries or choc. dipped strawberries.

But our Simple is the awesome party planner!!
