Hi Lance, missed ya! I was thinking about looking for you earlier if you hadn't posted. hugs

All this talk about Jello shots really makes me one! I can't have any alcohol though with my new headache meds.

Ya, no, I'm good...jello shots are setting! I only read here and post now and then on a few of my longer running threads. It's good for the soul! Since everything 'out there' seems to be muddled and mired to a clarity akin to banana jello pudding political wise...best just to step back.

Great to see you Fraust and everyone else.

I'm off to sleep soon.

I hate this body. I haven't taken insulin for eight hours and nothing I do will get my blood glucose over fifty.

I'm not hungry yet I just ate a cup of hash browns to try to bring it up.

I am certain I have figured out why old people die--my blood glucose goes off-scale low below forty around 3:00 AM every night.

It seems to be getting to the point I cannot manage my blood glucose level any longer. I can drink a cup of coffee and have it go to 400. I can eat a bowl of pure sugar ice cream and put pure sugar syrup and pure sugar sprinkles on it and my blood glucose will drop so low I pass out.

I think I'm reaching the point where I am beginning to no longer care.

Have a great night. See you all tomorrow.

Or not.

I get like that, too. Some days it's just nerve wracking to read through all the crap. Some people think I'm not on all the time because they only see me posting "out there" once in a while. I'm only brave enough once in a while.cool2

Hiii Fraust!! :)

hugs

Vodka...LOTS of vodka!

I used cherry jello and green apple jello for the red & green Christmas theme. Here's my post from way back then (2017).

Jello shots are cooling. These things are gonna be potent!!!

Supposed to add 1/2 cup cold water and 1/2 cup vodka to the boiling water/jello mixture. I skipped the cold water and added 1 cup of vodka to each package lol!!

Hi Fraust! Glad you stopped by!hf

I started back on Jello shots when we were walking around trick or treating with Baby a few years back. They had them for adult treats at one house. We went to that house twice and then back around for a third time toward the end. She had made too many and kept calling us back for more. I was stumbling home after 2 hours! 1rof1

We had a great day. We stopped at Lowe's on the way home. I bought a few more half dead flowers on sale. That's how I usually get them. it doesn't take but a little Miracle Gro to bring them back. I got 4 flowers & a bag of mulch to top ours off for under $10.

We stopped to get Mr's meds & everybody at the store was nice & complimented the sidearms & cowboy hats. They're usually not very nice. Something must be in the air here today. I'll take it!

Dinner is easy, all leftovers. Bits & pieces, polish sausage with a can of green beans for Baby, some combo of pizza, baked beans, chicken noodle soup for us.1dunno1

Alright just because you are so awesome Paranoiaaaaa <3 I was at a house party for my aunt & uncles 50th wedding anniversary when I was 14 years old. My cousins wife who was only engaged to him at the time was talking with me & I asked her for a drink, she would have been in her mid 20's at the time. She poured me a pint glass full of whiskey, gin, vodka. Bacardi, martini & maybe even some more different types as well. I knocked the pint of spirits back & asked her for another one & she poured out another half pint & I sunk that back in one too.
I done a runner & at one point I was under a parked lorry trying to get away from everyone while totally drunker than I have ever got in my whole life from then till now & I don't think I ever will lol. chuckle
The hangover was real lol & since then I have been reticent to repeat the experience. lolsign

Well it taught you not to do that again!

When I was about that age, me and two of my friends took turns downing a bottle of whiskey stolen from the one boy's mother.

We used to hang out at the corner store. It was a very small town and really the only place to go. They had a couple of video games there.

So we were in there after we drank the whiskey. My friend got sick and threw up all over the rack of sunglasses.

My older brother brought me home. I threw up in my bed and passed out in it. I was in trouble the next day. There was no denying it as I totally stank off alcohol.

I was not as wise as you Fraust. I periodically drank like that until I was in my thirties.

Thank you for asking. I believe I may have a ridiculous amount of self-induced guilt behind having gotten the monitor I have, while others don't have them.

It just feels wrong to ask for a newer one.

But you have a good point, I will call Anthem and ask them, I've even set a 9:30 AM reminder. Screw it, if it takes four hours on the phone with them so be it. It took more time than that and five months to get them to cover the monitor I have now. If my doctor needs to write a justification I'll ask him to. He may agree since I have a real danger of dying at night.

Sometimes it just gets incredibly frustrating and having two incidents in five days where I couldn't see or even think clearly was really getting to me yesterday.

I should never complain and seem to do far to much of it here.

So lets change that: I've my coffee and with this post an heading to the kitchen to nuke a Salisbury steak and macaroni entrée. I guess that's breakfast today, no need for anything fancy!

Louis, it sounds like your body may be producing/ utilizing some endogenous insulin.

I have no idea how they test for that...but be super careful. Are you still getting sugar highs some of the time or mostly just lows?

At the very least they should discuss dosing/ type of insulin tweaks to your regimen.

Your brekkie sounds good. I knew my future SIL was going to fit right into our family when the first summer at the lake, she rolled out of bed, threw on her swimsuit, grabbed a cold cheeseburger from the night before out of the fridge and ate it as finger food while we headed out on the ski boat. Lol

Back to work.
Best to you foodies!

I like my beer, that is the only thing lately that seems to raise it. And yes I agree with the endogenous possibility. I've watched and deliberately not eaten for two days at a time multiple times.

When ill or stressed [I am almost always stressed behind my job] it will slowly creep up during the day. If not stressed it will slowly creep down to the point it goes unreadably low.

I'm just glad I have a monitor that reads it every sixty seconds and holds eight hours data in its buffer. The newer ones out this year use Bluetooth to remain connected to your phone all night and as Para mentioned will cause an alarm to wake me if it falls too low.

I'm calling Anthem shortly to see if they will cover it for me along with a different brand of Glaucoma eye drops.

We're empowered!!

And... I called Anthem about my displeasure with the eye drops I have, they agreed, called the pharmacy a few miles from my home, and I'll be picking up a ninety day supply of the brand I prefer covered at 100%.

I asked about having my CGM [the blood glucose monitor] replaced with one that links via Bluetooth so it can send an alarm at night to wake me. She said the doctor or nurse will need to call and fax over the medical need for it and they will cover it too.

I'll be emailing my doc or probably his nurse as she likes me, to call Anthem and Fax over a justification and prescription.

So... success!

Edit to add: The pharmacy texted me five minutes later that my prescription is ready!
