Beautiful and poetic db.

I am taking a look at gardens of Guy Hervais to stay relaxed before rest.

I pulled a tub of vegetable beef soup & a chunk of cooked pork roast out of the freezer for an easy night.

That looks delicious! Havarti cheese makes the best cheese quesadillas. It melts and releases a buttery liquid that fries the edges of the tortilla. So much better than cheddar!

SN, your fried tortilla edges has me wanting to try that cheese now!

Re: Food with Attitude!
That was fun Louis.

I'll be so happy when this week ends, it has been brutal with a karmic wheel full stop, and me sliding down the earth..I meet w atty to close the 5 y/o estate. A convict came to my door, which I left open to get him water and OJ. The painter finishes the restoration. The working grant was approved. I shut down my aging mothers' meddling w limiting calls to only Sunday's. I had dinner w the cuntry girls after a year hiatus.

I just need a giant bubble for another year before the wheel stops again. Sometimes it feels like the outside world waits for my presence to shed it's grief. It could be worse though.

Lance, how's your face?

Paranoiaaaaa, any fun plans w baby?

Will hit my cheerful side in 3, 2, 1.... cheers

Try it, Louis! It's so good!

Another thing to try is fried string cheese (mozzarella in the little wrappers). Room temperature, remove wrapper (duh), place in non-stick frying pan (no oil), heat slowly until melted. Buttery liquid goodness. You will lick the plate. :)

Someone mentioned chicken parmesan for his lady friend. That is my all-time favorite meal, except that I like it smothered in alfredo sauce (not marinara) and with angel hair pasta rather than fettucini.

The two places that spoiled me for life on this dish are Bravo on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, and Gino's in Dam Neck, Virginia. I tried to get two popular Italian restaurants to replicate it last year when I was in DC. The chicken was great, but they couldn't get the alfredo sauce right. Ironically, alfredo sauce is not a thing here in Italy. chuckle

I love quinoa and amaranth. They reseed and get weedy if you let them. I never grew all those colors though.

They taste like popcorn if you pop the seeds in a kettle on the stove. Trouble is you can only pop a tablespoon or 2 at a time.
 Quoting: Half Past Midnight

I may try the popcorn thing. We have quinoa in the pantry.
 Quoting: Louis in Richmond

There are a lot of youtubes on it. Remember 1 or 2 T and that's it. No oil. Put it in a kettle (not a pan) because they pop high.
You stir the seeds with the heat on medium high. (no lid)
I think I turned the heat down little by little as they were popping like I did with popcorn.

They turn white like popcorn but are very small.
You can eat it with your fingers or a spoon (cause they're so small).

Meh, that doesn't mean anything. ANyhow, back to Alfredo, I think, if memory serves, it was an American adaptation for a sauce. The same goes for pasta really. Americans think of it as a main dish. It wasn't traditionally. Pasta was a side dish aside from the more complex pastas. Lasagna, made properly, is a super expensive dish. It was for weddings, High Holy Days, birthdays etc. Same with manicotti and such.
Obviously this is no more. Just a tidbit of data!
