Someone mentioned chicken parmesan for his lady friend. That is my all-time favorite meal, except that I like it smothered in alfredo sauce (not marinara) and with angel hair pasta rather than fettucini.

The two places that spoiled me for life on this dish are Bravo on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, and Gino's in Dam Neck, Virginia. I tried to get two popular Italian restaurants to replicate it last year when I was in DC. The chicken was great, but they couldn't get the alfredo sauce right. Ironically, alfredo sauce is not a thing here in Italy.
