Totally off topic lol Quoting: Simple27 Meh, that doesn't mean anything. ANyhow, back to Alfredo, I think, if memory serves, it was an American adaptation for a sauce. The same goes for pasta really. Americans think of it as a main dish. It wasn't traditionally. Pasta was a side dish aside from the more complex pastas. Lasagna, made properly, is a super expensive dish. It was for weddings, High Holy Days, birthdays etc. Same with manicotti and such. Obviously this is no more. Just a tidbit of data!
