You're obviously miserable, why not just divorce her? Sell the house or any property you two own together and pay her alimony to get rid of her. Sure it will cost you a lot, but divorce is expensive because it's worth it. You know you'll regain your positive peace of mind and who knows you might even not just make yourself happy, but her too! She's probably being mean to you so you'll divorce her and she'll be able to tell her friends and new leading man that you were an awful husband who didn't deserve her. Both of you want to be free, so that is what you should want for the two of you.  It may well come to that. She has mental issues and I feel obligated to maintain her. I'll die soon enough. I can't sell the house as I'm still in a battle with my bank and their mortgage processor over its ownership. I already paid over $250K USD in a divorce thirty years ago, I cannot do that again; I've still not recovered from that. It seems some evil is drawn to me as a moth to flame, only in this case it wishes to extinguish the light. I will not allow it to prevail, yet I know it is costing me my health.
