Everyone's food pics look delicious! I love breakfast.

I prefer leg of lamb rather than chops. I have only eaten it from a restaurant, never made it at home so I don't have nay tips for you Sigma. Beautiful pics though!

Instead of flowers, someone got me a gift card for Longhorn. They were thinking for after I came home form the hospital. I saved it as I thought I'd appreciate it more after my diet.
So we're going tonight. I'm going to be a pig and get the big ribeye!

My sons said he's going to try and get me some cannabis cream for my neck. I think it helps with scarring, but for me, it's more about healing the nerves. I'm still numb from my cheek to my chest on the right side. Does Mini have any numbness?

I'm just curious about that surgery, because my docs keep trying to get me to see a plastic surgeon about reduction. First there was Covid, then the cancer, so it wasn't high on my list.

That's a good idea. Yes, she still has numbness.

Iv seen people here cook grill good pork chops and steak. Do you think a grill would render the lamb chop. Or would you likely still render in a pan. Then grill?
 Quoting: Sigma Doka

V rarely do I cook one thing two different ways before serving. I prefer lamb baked 1st, grill 2nd, pan 3rd.. but I'm also a pushover for olive oil, crushed garlic and dried rosemary marinade, not mint. The only time I've cooked things twice different ways before serving was if I'm finishing off a pan braised item in the oven.

If baking: add some fennel, fingerling potatos, quartered mushrooms, carrots and oil w s/p to the baking pan, 1st...then the lamb since it cooks fast. Potatoes take forever to cook.

If grilling: I'm opposed to charcoal, and use a well charred propane grill. Heat to 450, then scrub remaining tidbits off grill, then add chops, reduce heat immediately. Cook about 6 & 5 or 5 & 6 min each side flipping. Turn grill off, let sit on a plate indoors for about 5 min before serving. The blood and juice will redistribute. Grab that little rib bone and gnaw it, no forks and knives. Oh, maybe some salt before biting, and always grilled Brussels sprouts. No breads, no rice, no carbs.

so glad to hear you are on the mend!! I hope all continues to go well.

I baked cookies for my daughter to take back to college
(and to send to Frausty - shhhhh, don't tell him)

How cute! I haven't had the patience to make cookies like that for a long time. I used to do it when the kids were little. Now Baby gets to do that kind of stuff with her mom or with her cousin's grandma.

Dinner was eggs benedict.

I got one of those buttermilk pies that Bastetcat talked about. It is delicious! It's very rich though. I didn't think to get whip cream & it could have use some to break it up a little.

Outlaw ribeye, loaded potato, mushrooms, & Mr's French onion soup. He gets the soup, eats my salad, & we share the steak. Plus all the bread. We still had a few bucks left on the gift card.

Oh that potato was mine! Mr eats the skin when I'm done with it. Last time we ate there, the server took my plate before he could put it in his take home box. He remembered not to let that happen today! He's a goof.cool2

He likes to pick up the steak bone and chew on it just because it drives our daughter crazy. She says he looks like a dog chewing on the bone. He'll really play it up with grease on all over his face. He don't give a fuck. chuckle

We stopped at Winn Dixie on the way home for ice cream. I just had a craving. I really wanted coffee Ice cream, but I haven't been able to find any for like 2 weeks maybe. The only coffee they had tonight were the tiny cartons that were over $5.

I ended up getting my favorite vanilla, Blue Bell Homemade. I usually buy something cheaper as it's usually Baby that eats it. She don't care, ice cream is ice cream. I got hit fudge, too.

Thanks Poolio. Were wondering about a grill. Theres no chance of rendering chops to be crisp yet medium rare in oven. You sound French lol. They wonder why we add mint to lamb. This is my favourite meal now though. No way Im giving money to takeaways and cant buy steaks for even twice the cost of lamb chops. Maybe I can find a steak but gave up bothering.

This is a good way to make lamb leg

[link to www.seriouseats.com (secure)]

You have to modify the taste but its better id say.

With lamb chops though. I can only make for 2 people as you have to make the dinner twice. Apart from the potatoes. So when cooking for my Mum. Sometimes she would say. So and so will be around. They like lamb chops. Id say. Theres no way Im cooking something 3 or 4 times. Thats the only time Id maybe cook a lamb leg. Just me now though. So id end up walking around town eating a lamb leg lol.

I can order a roast dinner delivery. So lamb. Beef. Pork. Turkey etc and will be all homemade. So should be nicer and where Im not making a roast for myself. Will see if its better than my lamb chop meal. Bet I think the chop meal would nicer still. Just promoting my dinner. It went from pub to maybe Amberley castle on a sunday for the public. Perhaps.

My bro wants to pay to take us out on xmas day. I cant deal with making a roast. Plus the equipment is lame. We dont have a car. He says it will cost £160 just for a taxi. So I need to find someone. If not was thinking of placing an ad in the paper for a driver but now Iv said that. Maybe we will end up locked in and driven to a twisted santa. Maybe it would be best to at least carry some window breaker. lol

Takeaway wise. Apart from ordering a roast or burger from the same place. It seems like only a chicken donor is good but even with that. You need to drink about 50 litres of water after. Not sure why. Maybe msg. If so its to make you buy more but its made me not buy again. Id ask them but sometimes people get offended with constructive critism. Like when I asked an Indian resturant if they added bbq sauce to mimic tandoori. They closed the shop. Thought Id end up in a curry.

You make posh food. Hope you post more because my skills are limited.

Made fried egg with the spare stuff. The top egg is the good egg and the bottom egg is the egg, half the price. Not so bad. Glad I dont need to be an egg snob but it were noticable more with scrambled egg. I break the yokes so they dont cook more. Hence it looks like broken eggs.

No DAW editing but if possible ( would ) Will be mapping everything so all controllers work as needed. Then practice. Might dedicate some songs to you lovely ladies. Wont be singing. Ah man. So bad at singing. Maybe just a hey etc. With instruments.

Delicious, zen & healthy looking. Do you ever eat single items as entire meals?

Not posh here, I'm historically a mutt when it comes to Wendy's chili..some particle in my brain must be fed periodically with it. I can't handle craving every meal though, so I take teas, use herbs and restrictions to maintain my ideas. I slacked last month w an overload of stress and adrenal fatigue. I pumped up about 12 different vitamins for a month, different combinations for each day, nothing worked. So, it's down to not eating.

Dieting is hard as hell.

Hoping I when I return. Video chat hasnt turned into the Wild west. Sometimes I think I say stuff. Then it becomes reality.
