start taking photos and video, life is too short not to remember where you've been

never go more than 10 over the speed limit, especially after dark and don't drive after dark anyway

oil change and tire check mandatory before leaving, oil change every 5k

pack light but pack for the climate you're going to, it's gonna get cold
