They should be replacing all the broken glass windows, with Lexan or other bulletproof material, ya know to protect it from the blacks and their wannabe blacks...

Wonder when scrap prices will go up. Been holding onto copper and copper aluminum coils waiting on them to pay something.

It might be time to load up the scrap and get to the salvage yard. This could be a good thing. I could line my pockets while helping the iron shortage.

Most steel plants were shutting down until trump got into office. Imagine relying on China for all your steel.

We need to be making the steel and mining the raw materials here.

Yes the price would be higher, but so be it.

High wage union jobs, national independence, so we aren't beholden to foreign nations.

I live in the lead belt, we have all kinds of lead underground yet, but due to EPA and other Chinese owned us government agencies it can't be mined at a profit anymore.

There are two giant lead smelters within 50 miles of me, both closed years ago sue to EPA and cheap Chinese imports, while our area was decimated economically.

Again, America is toast.

I run a small machine shop in the states and can confirm that pricing has been going up a good 10% a month for the last few months.

Even worse than that is the price of lexan and uhmw plastic. I've noticed an almost 400% price increase on it! Being blamed on all the sneeze guards being made but still a MASSIVE increase!

I work at a Machine shop ... We go thru tons ... I will ask ... the Owner tomorrow ...

Anybody in the states finding these kind of price hikes, or shortages of steel?
I know your country was going though a lumber shortage this year.

I just ordered some steel from one of my metal suppliers.
Part of that order was 2 lengths 24 ft long of 1 1/2" X 1 1/2" X 1/8" wall square tube. 4 months ago, this would cost me $115.00, today the price was $176.00 !! I asked the steel wtf was up wth that price, he said they have had 4 price increases over the past 3 months, and supposedly Monday it will go up again.
He said China is holding/using the iron ore. He said a lot of the material they usually carry is out of stock, and the bigger company they sometimes deal with are scrambling to get stock as well.
Frigging crazy.

The smell of war is in the air. There was some talk about massive navy ship production. That would suck up lots of steel. I wouldn't be surprised if China was burning of USD and putting it into commodities before the USD goes belly up next year

It's because the value of the dollar is becoming worthless, therefore the prices of basically everything are going up. Materials, assets, stocks, everything.
