It's long, but it may be one of the most important things some of you will hear today.

There was two boys, two men actually that were in our neighborhood, they were brothers, and they sent their bodies back together. And I remember that, momma and I went to the funeral. Things like that stick iin your mind. But there’s never been a war on our soil, that i know of unless the civil war would count for that, which was horrible enough. But if you take vietnam, russia, where you’ve actually fought the war on their land, that must be awful.
R: Must be nana, what do you think..
N: Well they just walk up to your house, and if they see you they kill you. And there’s no mercy in it. And they bring those men over here, like the germans. There was a group of them that come and worked the farm every day where we lived. Of course it wasn’t our farm, it was the man that owned the land. And they’d have to work all day then they’d haul em back to wherever they kept them. And the day was over, so it was just, that was the way of life. But I hope you don’t see a war honey. I hope it don’t happen. Cuz this one won’t be fought like the ones I’m talking about. Cuz they were fought with guns and brawn, you know, the men’s strength and everything like that. Never thought it’d be fought through a machine or a computer, something most people don’t understand. It would give whoever knows about it the advantage, i would think. I wouldn’t really know, I'm just guessing on that.
R: I think you’re absolutely right about the Nana. I was just talking about that to my roommate. I was just talking about how, you know, i know a lot about computers, but i don’t know anything like what you would need to [for cyber warfare]….. I know how to do creative and good things, not evil things.
N: Well that’s the thing right there, you see, these people have studied for years and that was what they were doing was getting the knowledge and the skills to destroy. When you think about a country the size of the United states that was brought to a virtual standstill over a germ. Is that real sounding? No. but it happened didn’t it? That’s the kind of mind you’re gonna be dealing with, and that’s a vicious mind, cuz those people don’t want, they really i don’t think they want what you’ve got, I think they just want to destroy you. That’s what’s so bad. They don’t use any mercy, they just wipe a clean bath(?) as they go.
R: Wow
N: and I don’t know that much about it, but i know when i was growing up, daddy and people used to sit around on the porch and talk cuz we didn’t have nothing else to entertain us, like the men and the women would talk about when the, you know all these things you and i are talking about right now, and it just sounded completely too farfetched to ever happen. But it did, and it’s happening. And it’s gonna get worse, it’s not gonna get better. Like these people up here fighting about who did what? Well they’re not trying to solve the problem and get those people in jail that did the wrong. They're just simply wanting to point fingers. Make it as ugly as they can. If that’d had happened back, I'd say 20 years ago, people do what these men did to the law, they’d be in jail. And that’s where they should be.
R: that’s true
N: But what you have to do as a citizen of this country is talk to your friends and people that you know of your age and you're the ones that’s gonna have to deal with all this that comes out of this mess right now. And it’s gonna be hard. It’s not gonna be a thing that’s gonna be solved overnight. It’s gonna take a long time, if indeed you can sell it. Because the world’s gonna come to an end, Rachel. The Bible tells you it’s going to. And it tells you how it’s gonna happen. And the bible’s true. So that’s what you’ve got to do, is prepare yourself for that time.
R: How do i do that, Nana? How do I survive as long as I possibly can?
N: First of all, you get down on your knees and pray. And when i say that, i mean like this: you pray that the lord will give you knowledge that you need to help save your country and your land and your family, because all that’s going to be at risk. And if you don’t save it, you’re out, you got nothing. And people just march through and do what they want to to you and take what they want of yours and go to the next house. It sounds too simple, but that’s what it’ll amount to. And it’s just massive destruction. I just, i don’t know how to tell you, i just know that when i was 15 i got saved. And I've always had that comforting thought that I am saved. And I know that in the bible, Jesus said, “If you believe in me, I'll believe also in you.” In other words, if you ask him to save you, he will do that. Now that does not mean that you get everything you want. It means simply that your heart is right with him. And when you die, you’ll go to heaven instead of hell. And people don’t believe that. They don’t believe there is one - a heaven and a hell, but I assure you, there is… and if you pray about it, you’ll be enlightened as to what to do and how to do it. And you don’t have to be a religious nut as some people think. All you have to do is try to live right and do the right thing for your fellow man if you so want, are inclined. I don’t know all the answers, but i just know i feel like when i’m threatened any way, i feel safe. I could die, and i know that, but the thing that they can’t kill is my soul and my spirit. So that’s what you want to do is concentrate on the works of the lord. Make sure you’re right in that direction.
R: I understand. And I will.
N: Huh? I know you will Rachel.
N: Well all you got to do, you don’t have to get on your knees, i would if i could, but just sit on the side of your bed and bow your head and pray earnestly. Now if you pray this prayer and you don’t mean it, then you’re in bad trouble. Ask for forgiveness of all your sin, first of all, and then ask that he save you in his name. And all that you pray is for his glory and not yours. And that don’t mean you're a holy roller. It simply means that you want to do the right thing in your life, and not be a mean hateful person that hurts other people…. You’ve seen people like that I know. And it’s that simple.
R: And will that tell me what I need to do every step of the way? When i get to that state and i get the answers
N: Yeah you’ll feel it in your heart now. It ain’t gonna be a voice that just says something to you like i do. But you will feel it inside of you, and sometimes the spirit deals with the person a long time. And other times it’s brief. But if you’ll open your heart and mind you can receive that answer that you’re seeking. If you ask earnestly and he’ll answer you. Not like i’m talking but you’ll know and you’ll feel it in your heart. And it’s the greatest joy I've ever felt when I was saved. And i know i was saved, because when i feel like i’m in danger of anything, i just simply say Help me, Lord. and I’m not bragging or nothing, but i've come through some pretty rough times. And the lord has always stood beside me. You can feel his presence and you know that you’re in his case. And just simply always say a prayer of thanksgiving. When something has been solved that I need to be solved and I asked for, and you’re not gonna get everything you asked for. But you will get what you need. And if you don’t like what you get then you’ll have to pray harder and ask where you’re wrong if indeed that’s what’s holding you back. But that’s the way i do it rachel. I’m not fancy with my religion. I just call it being saved is what I feel like. And I was raised in a good home, one that believed in the lord and if you’ll read your bible, mainly the new testament, I think it’s Matthew, the first 3 books or 4 books, gives you the perfect plan of salvation. It’s not spelled out like that but it will tell you what to do and how to follow the examples that you're supposed to. And you’ll get what you’re looking for.
R: Who were the best king and the best characters in the bible that had to lead people through adversity and hard times?
N: Well Paul is a good example and reason being, he was a rascal and he was a mean mean man and persecuted christians, and then on a journey, he was struck down and God come in his life and hard and opened his eyes to what he was doing and being and he was converted and that’s when he was saved and after that his testimony was so great that when he was going to go in a city of course they didn’t have the same things we did; they had to walk and but he would talk to the people, not necessarily preach but explain to him you know that they needed to be saved and as far as i’m concerned in the studyin of the bible, i like paul’s writing and daniel and david too. Both of them are good, Daniel especially. But you just have to start reading and if you don’t feel like you’re on the right place, just say Lord, show me where to go, what to do. And you’ll feel in your heart where you need to go. And you have to be open to it and let him in because otherwise you won’t make it or won’t get it. But if you ask to be saved in his name, you will be saved. It’s no price, it’s just by grace. And you have to believe. Because you’re not gonna do something you don’t believe in. and that’s the main thing, you have to believe in god and his teaching.and he will lead you right down the right path in every case.
R: so that really is what I need to to be prepared for what might come, because we don’t know what might come. We just know that we have to be right with the lord.
