Australia has done nothing. You would think that we would have the guts too slap higher tariffs on Chinese goods as pay back but instead we will eventually crawl to the Chinese and do deals that benefit the Chinese more than us.

The Australian government will lose all credibility with the Australian population if they back down to China, and in Australia credibility is the only way to keep and maintain political power otherwise the population just ignore you and do what they want while merely paying lip service. Our politicians know this so they will do their damnedest to outlast the Chinese in this game of economic chicken. We might even see controls put onto onto iron ore exports to China and tariffs on imports of trinkets from China. There's no better way to stimulate the rebuilding of Australian manufacturing capability.

At the end of the day however, the most correct answer is always going to be "fuck China".

We are going to start manufacturing all our stuffs again, even military stuff, it's all already being set in motion.
