Well then we don't know what's available to you... Is semi auto allowed? You say Brazil, I would assume Rossi and Taurus would be more available than US companies... All I can tell you is you want a 22 rifle... Do not go with a 22 pistol... A 22 lr from a pistol is weak compared to a rifle... You need the extra velocity of the longer barrel to punch through a hog skull... Both Brazilian companies make copies of older Winchester designs, pumps and semi autos... Might even consider a 22WMR if it is as easy for you to get as 22LR... It's still Rim fire so might be as easy law wise but it really steps up a notch power wise in a long barrel rifle.

That's not a joke. In Florida and Texas there are huge ferile hog problems and air guns are used exclusively because they are powerful enough and don't scare the hogs. They just pick them off while the rest of the hogs stand around wondering why the other hogs are falling and they don't run.

I am talking the $99 pellet gun from Wal Mart might work if it is the right one.

I've been using a Ruger .22 w/a thermal scope hunting Feral Hogs for years. Bigger firepower is nice but shot placement is more important. With a silencer you can pop hogs all day or night long and can get rid of the entire sounder before they realize what has happened.

Those that say that you're worried about "humanly putting them down" who cares? Hogs destroy more crops than anything in the woods. They have killed many people too.

For every one you put down 2 take it's place. In Texas there is about 1.5 million hogs that are not native species and the state encourages getting rid of them. Hogs can have 3-4 litters a year with 11 hogs/litter.

Bottom line don't dis a .22 because it is just as lethal as .223 round in the right hands. One shot one kill...
