It definitely looks like gas. Gas will not knock down buildings like a truck full of C4 when lit outside. (Inside a building different) also a gas explosion will not leave a crater. Rapid expansion, big boom and flame but little over pressure and direction. There is very little structural damage and just a bunch of garbage blown around. |

The reason I added this to the #4 slot is because it does as you say make a mess but leaves no crater. And if you look at the video of the DEW, you see a flash, then a stream of smoke followed by the smoke from the explosion.
