What is the name of this auditory thing I'm experiencing? Has anyone else had this happen? | |

You've trainedd your brain to hear/play it when you relax. You should try it with some affirmations or something. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 14992014 It could be the machine is jacking with you too. I don't think it's jacking with me. I already considered that, and have tried to pay particular attention to when it's louder and clearer vs. less so. I think it has happened standing up in there, but it is very frequent and annoying when I'm in bed, even if I'm not sleepy. I've started to think the heater hiss/pops set it off ... that I make that association with the sounds ... I'm also going to try it with no heater. Affirmations are a good idea - thank you. It doesn't have to be a song! That would be even more wild, if I heard affirmations instead of music! When the shit hits the fan and the end is just nigh, will you cry out to Heaven? Will you lie down and die? Not me, my dear one - THIS IS MY SACRED LIFE - to no one nor no thing I'll surrender. For how does one know where when dead she will go, or if sweet Mother Earth he'll remember? - Sug |

Start settling up your affairs and say your goodbyes. You'll probably need to move to an assisted center soon where they can assist with your transition to the afterlife. They now have a new transition procedure called COVID. |

I'll take that under advisement. I figured maybe my brain formed an association between the heater sounds and the sunrise music, especially since that's the only time I've experienced this. But demented isn't the absolute worst thing, I guess. When the shit hits the fan and the end is just nigh, will you cry out to Heaven? Will you lie down and die? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79466996 Perfect! I'll put that one in the experiment, too. When the shit hits the fan and the end is just nigh, will you cry out to Heaven? Will you lie down and die? Always the same type of music although what they are singing I've never heard before the music is hymnal type rather than a real hymn that I could identify-although I once heard them singing 'In my Liverpool home' but that sounded more like football supporters singing. |

Quoting: SugarSand Every morning at sunrise it starts playing "Here Comes the Sun" by the Beatles. I love it because I can set it for sunrise, whatever time that is that day. I like the speaker itself in the kitchen, and I can hear it from my bedroom. It's been set to that song for months and months. Small house. Bedroom has an electric baseboard heater that is way too noisy. It hisses and clinks and pops. So lately, whenever I lie down no matter what time of day, amid the heater noises I eventually - sometimes immediately - hear the song. Not stuck in my head. I hear it with my ears. Sometimes I have to get up and double check ... and of course it's not playing. What is this called? Has anyone ever experienced it? I'm changing the song. Maybe I'll get some insight that way. What should I change it to? That's nothing! I can hear people from GLP talking in there homes through my fan. |

Quoting: Brandywine It’s called clairaudiance actually (spelling could be wrong) I was giving the medical term for the experience, not some perceived psychic ability. Thanks though. I know the term because I have narcolepsy and experience hypnagogic and hypnopompic hallucinations. I don't hear the Beatles though. I hear pan flutes, and see scary things if I am too exhausted emotionally or physically.
