If anyone has outside shoulder pain or rotator cuff pain
I found this exercise in the 90s from Nolan Ryan, he claimed this simple movement extended his career by 5 or more years.

I was benching super heavy back then & I got to where I couldn't even raise my arm above my head, I gave this to both of my boys when they started lifting & they have had great success with it as well.

Its simple, stand up put both arms in the "signal right turn position" (see pic) while standing, move your hand down & back up while keeping the elbow bent, NO WEIGHT! Do a set of 10 every day, within just 2-3 days your shoulder will feel 100% better!

All I get it a click, click, click.

Can't really do it down, but that is a good exercise for bad shoulders.

So is just doing circles so the joint doesn't freeze.

COOL! I'll tell you, I had my shoulders so fired I thought i needed surgery, glad it worked for you as well my friend!


After not being able to lift since 2006 (severe kidney disease), I thought I was at the point that I could start at least doing pushups, after just a couple of days my shoulder got all messed up again, started doing this exercise & it straightened it right out!

Yeah, sorry, I looked & couldn't find any vids, put both arms in the right turn signal position, slowly move your hands from an upright "waving" position to facing down & come back up, from the starting position you don't want anything but your hands & from your elbow outwards moving, it rotates your shoulders

It sounds like op means to ROTATE your arm at the shoulder joint.

Hold your arm in an L shape, as the Right Hand turn signal of shows.

Rotate your arm forward, rotating at the shoulder, while maintaining your elbow in the 90° L shape. Rotate 90° forward until the palm of your hand is parallel to the ground.

Then rotate back up, 90°.

1) Lay on your back on the floor with your head touching the floor, with your arms outstretched away from your body. It may take a few moments before your muscles relax to do this.
2) Bring both of your hands under your head and rotate your arms up trying to get your elbows to touch above your head and hold the pose for fifteen seconds.
3) With hands still under your head rotate your arms down towards the floor as far as you can and hold this position for fifteen seconds.
4) Repeat arms up 15 seconds and then down 15 seconds.

Do this several times a few times per day, starting off slowly to enhance mobility and strength.
After awhile a few push-ups, cheater style from your knees, verses your toes, might build up some shoulder strength and tone up the chest.

It took me a minute to decipher as well.

You rotate the arms forward until the forearms are pointed down and the palms face rearward.

It rotates the shoulder joint.

Usually hands in loose fists facing forward like body

Yes it helps

It’s a standard gym rotator cuff exercise

Also add :

Tuck elbows at the waist - arms at 90 degrees in front of you

Swing arms out keeping elbows tucked - and back

This is called “opening the gate” and exercises the rotator cuff

there are thousands of these vids for shoulder impingement exercises.

it's incredible how many physical therapists don't know what the fuck they are talking bout.



one of the best vids was just by some guy in a gym that gave 3 of the best ones

basically you are just strengthening the muscles that pull the shoulder back into the socket from the back, from all angles. getting the beer gut slowly pulls your arms out of their sockets!!

that video that was the best, out of all those hundreds of shoulder impingement vids , is gone, the ones that really work have no volume because guess what??

shoulder surgery is BIG FUCKING BUSINESS for the most compromised class in our society. they don't want you to KNOW that you dont need surgery you need a 10 minute workout 3 times a week for total cure.

Hold both arms straight out 90deg from the sides of your body. Keep elbow bent and slowly move palm to face downward and then return palm to face up. repeat palm movement 10 times. No weights?

I'm wondering if I have rotator cuff problems....I have a huge hard lump right on top of my right shoulder and it hurts. Could that be rotator cuff?
