The national guard can provide security/law enforcement aid

BUT don't have medical units.....

Medical units are part of the army reserves where they have personnel in all medical fields....


If the mission is security/ law encforcement, you want the national guard, if its to augment hospital staff, you want a Army reserve medical unit....

Ive been remodeling a National Guard Base in the south. They came into the big room where my temp office is located to ask for room dimensions last Monday. They said they "need the space for items for immediate deployment. She said war, we both laughed. hmmm

The national guard is pretty active in Hawaii. They enforce quarantine, visiting new arrivals at random times to make sure they stay inside for two weeks.

There does seem to be a push to expand the national guard. Every time I go on Reddit, I see ads to join them.
