That was the most asshole thing to ask someone who just lost their dad! Quit being so jaded! And find your humanity or dont comment! Please... The whole glp site offers their condolences to you and your family and especially your mother on a most difficult and heartbreaking day. Last Edited by Violetmd on 01/01/2021 03:31 AM Violetmd |

While he was not my father, he WAS my Dad in every other way...the most important ways. He’s been in my life for nearly 35 or my 50 years. It’s a loss that will be felt by many. In a better place now waiting in line to face judgement. Spared from having to endure what is coming. Sadly, you’re most likely correct. My Mom this evening said very much the same thing to me as your second sentence. “A person is smart, people are stupid.” “Nobody knows until everybody knows” |

User ID: 76258609 United States 01/01/2021 03:28 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My Dad died today. He was 84, yet the man was healthy as a horse and had far more energy than I have on my best days. He ate healthy. Quoting: Larphillips OP- Sorry for your loss. One death is one too many and the human cost is intolerable regardless of what led up to it. I have a few questions which are asked for the sake of clinical relevance. Once diagnosed, what medications were prescribed? Was there a daily zinc regimen started/maintained? Was there a daily vitamin C regimen started/ maintained? Was there a vitamin D regimen started/maintained? I realize these questions may seem like they intend to place blame for the death on some action or inaction of health professionals... but please realize... we cannot improve without comparing data on what works vs what doesn't help. There are millions of us out here who need to know what helps. We are taking vitamin C, D, Zinc and an ionophore every day on which we leave the house. Letting us know one or more of these were ineffective will help us stretch our supply of the remainder. What were his habits? Strict isolation, "ah, what's the fuss?", or 50/50? Not asking for blame, but for info that might save lives. For instance... we sterilize every item that enters this household... did they? If so, how? We use UV & ozone for mail and small stuff... for big stuff we use cleanser and mop-down. Did they, or just chance it? |

Your father didn't stay away from sources of the virus, and due to his age he was doomed. Many here are also equally doomed, however time delays their departure. Time is an equalizer, now much quickened. Many are destined to die from this current virus, and the next, and the next after. Fools will pay their penance. You will too, just like your father, if you deny it. Good luck, death approaches. |

I understand your need to try to understand and maybe compile data, but I don’t have much information as to what medications or treatments he was on in the hospital. I know he was on a forced-air system...delivering massive amounts of oxygen. I’ll say this...I know that part of his daily regimen included vitamins. Additional and higher doses of vitamin C and zinc always at the onset of any cold symptoms. He also maintained a very good diet based around Mediterranean/Italian eating high in fiber and low in saturated fats. A lot of beans, broths, tomatoes, garlic, olive oils, fish, chicken, etc. Little to no sugars or sweets. His state is Pennsylvania, under mask mandates, gathering limits, dining closures, etc...although his workplace (his business) was likely pretty lax. I think my Mom backed off of their sterilization and very strict controls around the summertime. I doubt my Dad took it all that seriously. “A person is smart, people are stupid.” “Nobody knows until everybody knows” |

"larp"hillips Well...I can’t sleep and anonymously venting a bit on a site I visit at least daily felt a little therapeutic...or at least as a distraction. Today was hard. Tomorrow will be hard. To do what has to be done in the coming days will be hard. I just wanted to talk it out a little. I dread facing tomorrow. “A person is smart, people are stupid.” “Nobody knows until everybody knows” |

Man, my company vetoed that in March 2020. Between you and I, if I was 84 I wouldn't have gone outside, let alone to a workplace. I am sorry he felt compelled to do so despite the universal availability of Zoom/Skype. What needed doing so badly in person? Or was this just a case of an older person who couldn't adapt? Not judging... just seen it happen. You mentioned the wife might have slacked off... I've seen that, our neighbors for instance. Started very strict... now treating it like nothing. Everything here gets UV and ozone since March before entering the home. Mail, groceries... no exceptions before it enters the house. No sickness here. Hope others have the same wisdom/luck. BTW I agree with those who say "spared" - some difficult crossings are coming and many like yours have already paid their fare. Let them go on in peace... not seeing that which is to come, and be thankful of it. Last Edited by Graboid_Hunter on 01/01/2021 04:13 AM |
