Trump had NO intentions of trying to do anything but to FIRE UP the crowd so it would do his dirty work for him.

Didn't anyone notice (on the backstage video) how JOYFUL he and his family were before he went onstage to FIRE UP the crowd and ordered them to go down the street to the Capitol?

Trump was clearly intending to OVERTHROW the Constitution. He had absolutely NO intention of "tamping down" that crowd, but was doing everything he could to FIRE THEM UP so he could prevent the Elector's Votes from being counted.
