How ridiculous is it to send soldiers with no weapons? If they don't need their weapons, they don't need soldiers.

Then again, they're Nat Guard weekend warriors, so it may be more dangerous to give them guns. Maybe they could give them guns, but only one bullet each, which they must keep in their front pocket.
