More people tuned into CNN last Wednesday to watch President Trump supporters storm the U.S. Capitol than had ever watched the network on one day before.

CNN averaged 5.22 million viewers on Jan. 6, slightly more than its 5.1 million average from Election Day 2016, according to Nielsen data. The network averaged 4.77 million viewers on Sept. 11, 2001.
