Hi Kate :) I got the same kind of letter about six months ago, but never needed it - it was sent in panic mode I'm sure.

My sister got one from her employer, too. It's also not because she's an "essential worker," it's that she can't do her job from home. She can, but she will lose her mind if she has to and her boss has allowed three people to work at her place of employment.

I'll be traveling next weekend to bring my parents their groceries. They live an hour and a half away from me.

Covid Test have a 3% reliability. As ruled by a Portuguese Court. Think about it. 97 people out of 100 taking a Covid test will have a false result.

My letter is similar but far more complex. I actually need a separate letter for every facility I need access to as well as the documentation for being out after curfew. Critical infrastructure like internet and telecom have multiple layers of security. Many buildings require an rfid photo card to be worn on display at all times, have cameras everywhere, armed guards(automatic rifles not just side arms) biometric readers and scales before entering.

I had got one too. Never needed it.
