Out of curiosity kate, why a crossbow instead of a gun?

Also, you do realize that a crossbow big enough to be useful is likely not only going to be expensive but also going to require large amounts of strength to operate right?

Save on ammo for hunting, I learned a bit about crossbow hunting this summer when I took the hunters safety program and I’d like to get into the sport. I’m pretty strong these days from lifting weights daily so that shouldn’t be a problem.

I’m seeing prices from 600.00 CA to 1700.00, that’s a big difference so I thought I’d ask.

Just buy a gun.

If you don't want to deal with NICS and all of that BS, buy an airgun.

Here's a .50 caliber with a suppressor, and you can have it shipped to your house:

Plan to do that but I’m still waiting on my PAL license to come, they’re behind because of C-19 :/

I still want a crossbow too though, so I’m searching them out today.

I’d recommend a Matthews compound bow. You won’t lose much meaningful distance, accuracy or speed in most real world scenarios and you’ll gain a realistic ability for follow up shots of necessary.

Unless you are hunting on the plains somewhere, most wooded areas are too thick to really get any advantage a crossbow would give you, although a compound bow will require a solid summer of practice first if you are new to it.

Look into a compound Bow, follow up shots are much faster.
And if you are good with it you can compete in tournaments professionally.

Rofl I would hardly say a crossbow saves you money on hunting considering that the bolts cost close to 10 dollars per one and it is really easy to lose one or have one hit a tree or bone and bend etc...

The only reason I would recommend a crossbow is that they are quieter than your average firearm, but you can buy a silencer for a 22 rifle and get some subsonic ammunition and hunt without the people next door knowing about it.

Okay I’m learning lol, so this is new for me. But I’d like to get into it while I wait for my gun license. I was hoping to go to the range where I live since I took those courses this summer but everything is shut down!!

Anyways it is what it is. I just pulled up a Canadian Tire website for the store we have in town here that has this one in stock and they offer curb side pick up.

Will it be good to start out with?

You can shoot in your basement.Any place you got 30 feet. The cool thing about archery is you can learn and practice close.Once you have good form it never changes.I shoot recurves now and a little harder at distance but more fun.If i still hunted i would get exactly what was posted above.I have always shot well tho,bb guns sling shots rifles shotguns pistols.I just always had good eyes and just like to shoot.
