I’m looking to order one and don’t want a crappy one. Any tips welcome as well because I’m new to this! Quoting: -Kate- Out of curiosity kate, why a crossbow instead of a gun? Also, you do realize that a crossbow big enough to be useful is likely not only going to be expensive but also going to require large amounts of strength to operate right? Quoting: roguetechie81 Save on ammo for hunting, I learned a bit about crossbow hunting this summer when I took the hunters safety program and I’d like to get into the sport. I’m pretty strong these days from lifting weights daily so that shouldn’t be a problem. I’m seeing prices from 600.00 CA to 1700.00, that’s a big difference so I thought I’d ask. Quoting: -Kate- Rofl I would hardly say a crossbow saves you money on hunting considering that the bolts cost close to 10 dollars per one and it is really easy to lose one or have one hit a tree or bone and bend etc... The only reason I would recommend a crossbow is that they are quieter than your average firearm, but you can buy a silencer for a 22 rifle and get some subsonic ammunition and hunt without the people next door knowing about it.
