I’m looking to order one and don’t want a crappy one. Any tips welcome as well because I’m new to this! 
There’s no such thing. Lol
I’d recommend a Matthews compound bow. You won’t lose much meaningful distance, accuracy or speed in most real world scenarios and you’ll gain a realistic ability for follow up shots of necessary.
Unless you are hunting on the plains somewhere, most wooded areas are too thick to really get any advantage a crossbow would give you, although a compound bow will require a solid summer of practice first if you are new to it.
 You can shoot in your basement.Any place you got 30 feet.The cool thing about archery is you can learn and practice close.Once you have good form it never changes.I shoot recurves now and a little harder at distance but more fun.If i still hunted i would get exactly what was posted above.I have always shot well tho,bb guns sling shots rifles shotguns pistols.I just always had good eyes and just like to shoot.
