Are we talking about America or anywhere?

Look at history:
1 Fighting for independence is not secession
2 There are very few examples (if any) of a government letting any part of their country to secede.
3 The USA has a mechanism to allow new States but no mechanism for them to leave.

Secession is a wonderful concept but the reality is that only the view of those in power will matter. Not those in power of the place seeking to secede but those in power of what they are wanting to secede from.

Regardless of what you or the populous of the seceding territory thinks or wants, history shows they will need to be prepared to fight and die for their right (if any) to leave.
