Get those extra large RAT glue pads and place on top of TV. Your cat will jump on top of TV and get the glue pads stuck on its paws and fur. That will scare the hell out of it and your cat will not jump on top of your TV again...

Good luck getting the glue pads off your cat...

Bathe it in veggie oil to remove glue pads. Your cat will love you for it...

Just provide a shelf or something higher that he can jump up onto and sleep comfortably. A cat tree would be awesome.
