my italian ancestors were treated badly when they moved here. reparations, per favore?

my relatives came to this country well after slavery was abolished. they sat in the steerage section with a satchel of money to declare... in those times the amount they brought would have been a large amount, yet they chose to ride steerage with the rest.

once in new york they did not find roads paved with gold and limitless opportunity for an eager young laborer looking to escape poverty. they found oppression, discrimination, racism, and more poverty.


you know how they rose above? hard work and fervent determination. those times were not easy for them. their labors are why i can live comfortably today in society.

people dont discriminate against italians anymore!

and before that, the other side was another heavily persecuted peoples from spain who moved to the british isles and then to usa. they had to experience the same hardships.



but can i please get some reparations? it was less than 400 years ago, it was less than 200 years ago. it was very recently.
