The elite are just like the rest of us, just in a bigger way. What, from the standpoint of human nature, is the argument against them?

Neither feels compelled to explain themselves. No one feels guilty about what they do as long as they have a why, and no one feels compelled to tell others what that why is. After all the excuses and deliberately conflicting justifications for cruelty, I just don't see evil or sin in the world, only varying amounts of inconvenience for different parties. So you believe like Augustine that evil is only privation or an absence of good? I used to believe that but no longer. Evil is a countervailing force against Good. No other explanation seems possible based on empiricism.
