The Bible is a compendium of not necessarily related texts.

If you read the scrolls that were found in Nag Hammadi Egypt, (some of the earliest “Christian” writings you will find some of the original and oldest form Gospels that are in the current Bible.

So number 1 - it is not a coherent text that has any purpose. It is a compilation of writings from different authors.

There are a lot of people who practice "Fake it until you make it" with their "Born Again" experience. They play along and LARP as the "Lighter than Air" new Christian and then eventually they fall away and go back to their old ways because their experience wasn't genuine but they wanted so bad to take part in something transformative.

There are some others who are blessed with a gift from "above"

Some people have very active Pineal Glands or Pineal Glands that will Excrete the right package under certain circumstances.

Others have deadened Pineal Glands that take a lot of work to bring back to life.

Fortunately, it's not *all* about the Pineal or some physical bit of flesh and chemical in your body, but for some, it is a positive and transformative trigger.

This would have 100% been my response not so very long ago. As I mentioned before in a comment, we have been Lied to about Everything (I wonder if you are aware of that yet) so I find it pretty hard to believe the Word hasn't had some little nefarious knuckles moving around or completely omitting very important facts.

One thing OP can't rationalize is what Relationship With Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is about per the experience of those who Gave Their Lives Unto The Father and from then on Live In Constant Conscious Contact and Relationship With HIM.

Essentially, "prove it in the Word" is a defense mechanism. But, no matter.

Those who Take Action answering God's Call have to overcome all their carnal-hearted defense mechanisms. Only by making our Leap Of Faith can Father Deliver us from our "stony-heart" and Enable Our Reception Of Our New Heart Of Father's Flesh.

I was once challenged to prove that there was Born-Again reference within The Old Testament. I found Ezekiel 36:26-27 by entering some search terms that descibed my daily life lives In, With, and Through The Father.

God The Holy Spirit often Enables my understanding of Scriptures I might otherwise not understand.

Having Relationship of Direct and Personal Nature With The Father, not like I need to consult The Bible; but I do so to prove my witness to others and perhaps provide some confidence in the witness I share.

I was raised and educated catholic, and was one until I gave my life to Father-God in 1984. catholics don't have much Bible-awareness, because it is not taught or particularly revered.

Just to find out the reality of your statement, go listen to a Rabbi explain the Torah versus what you are taught the OT teaches from a Christian perspective.

The renewal of the spirit and the rebirth have nothing at all to do with experiences.

All religious experiences, feelings and also experiences (e.g. near death), also have nothing to do with what Christianity is about in the very core.

The fantasies that believers have here have to do with the fact that they have not understood the Bible and are in a state of false identification.

This false identification leads these believers to believe that they will go to heaven with the flesh, that is, that which has religious experiences. However, this is not true. They go to heaven with the soul.

So what it is about is to know the "space" (as soul) in which the person, with his feelings, thoughts, sense perceptions, etc. appears.

Oneness with God is a nameless state, which cannot be described in the dual categories of thinking, of the material world.

The truth of God is much simpler and more obvious than many assume.

The great thing is, you don't even need to believe anything or argue about Bible exegesis, because what Jesus talks about can be checked by anyone, at any time, by themselves.
