Quoting: Fugazi World But best show was U2 in May of 1987 at the Brydon Byrne Arena in NJ. Wow - well done. Has anyone else kept their "ticket masters" stubs? Lol..thanks..great thread and yes, I have about 15 or so stubs from concerts over the years. You do wonder if live concerts are a thing of the past with a fake covid crap. They are insane enough to destroy everything for power. That said, all the concerts ranged for good to great..most great. Yep, loved it - had a GREAT time. Have an 18 year old now that I don't think will ever get to do what we did. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 77727178 United States 01/24/2021 10:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Saw the Clash on their first West Coast show at the Berkeley Community theater in 1979. Bo Diddley opened. They tore the place up. UFO (with Schenker) opened for Rush, 1978. UFO slayed Rush that night. Saw KISS on the Kiss Alive tour. They nearly burned down the Oakland Auditorium. Bob Seger opened for Kiss. He was amazing. I used to see the Tubes all the time in the Bay Area in high school. They always put on a great live show. But I've seen lesser known artists play some amazing live sets. Mink DeVille was incredible. Saw Bruce Cockburn at a roadhouse in Mass in 84. He kind of blew me away. MuteMath SXSW 2007. Siouxsie and The Banshees circa 1980, I-Beam, SF. But maybe the best was U2, one of their first shows in the US on the "Boy" tour. They were amazing. About as close to religion as you could get with Rock. Shame what happened later. |

Been six front row concerts for that album and saw Bellamy mouth the words. And what are the odds it has demons at that point in the video. |

I saw Pink Floyd Animals tour in Cleveland Stadium in 82. I saw the Stones in Cleveland in 78. (with Kansas and Peter Tosh) Saw them in Cincinnati in the 80's too. I saw Zeppelin in Cincinnati Riverfront stadium in 77. I was at the infamous Who concert in Cincinnati in 79. I saw Who before that in Cincinnati in 75. And saw them again in Lexington in 84. I have seen Rod Stewart with Faces. (Ronnie Woods on guitar, Kenny Jones on Drums) back in 74. Killer band. I saw Yes, Jethro Tull multiple times in the 70s. (These bands were great in concert back then). I saw Black Sabbath. I saw Styx in Dayton Ohio. I saw Greg Allman play solo acoustic in a small hall (Bogarts) I saw reggae legend Jimmy Cliff there, went back stage and met him because I was with an African buddy who knew him. I saw the Electric Light Orchestra play with clear acrylic instruments that they bounced Lasers through. |

They had a policy back then...opened arena with no assigned seats, and they didn't open the doors up until about an hour before the show. I remember the crush of people trying to get into that show and my buddy telling me 'dude..my feet are not on the ground right now'. It was really dangerous. and that was two years before the Who tragedy. (I had no problem getting into that one, but did see the bodies on the ground covered with blankets...didn't know what had happened until the show was over). I always felt the people who ran the city should have been charged with a crime for the way that they let that shit operate... I saw others back then too.... Jackson Browne. Kiss, etc. concerts and weed were both cheap in the 70s |
