So you're saying they found a way to get past the firmament dome?

 Quoting: New Atlantis

Nice post, Atlantis. Actually, it is quite correct to say nothing gets past the Firmament.

However, the reason why the rocket-trail in this time-lapse appears to "descend" is due to perspective, not to it actually going down.

It's the same as why an airplane contrail appears to descend, when it is painted across the sky - the plane did NOT descend, the plane just continued on a level trajectory away from your viewpoint until it disappeared over the horizon from your perspective. The plane did not descend, unless someone hit the brakes of it ran out of gas.

It is the same concept with any rocket that is lobbed aloft into orbit: it continues at a level altitude until something slows it down, such as a burn or braking maneuver. So, the rocket is just continuously circling overhead, above the flat plain of earth, until something happens to reduce its speed and cause it to descend. But, when you are watching from the ground at night, that light from the rocket-engine makes a trail that appears to "descend" just like an airplane contrail does in the daytime.

Some of these people are just trolling you Astro...

They're trying again tomorrow too.

Having said that, you'd probably go into a deep depression if you ever found out the truth, so maybe it's better that you stay soundly asleep.

The problem with your distance calculation is you are measuring a moving object against a moving background (the stars). The error is made because you assume the earth is rotating, when it is not - earth is stationary. The heavens are in motion, and the curvature of the track of the stack of images is not due to parallax, it is due to perspective, because the stacked individual frames are creating a time-lapsed "trail" across the sky.

The Mars vehicle is travelling in a level straight line, circuiting above the plane of earth, and you only get to see it when it is in the nighttime range of your telescope. So, it is a question of how many "circuits" above the flat plain of earth that the vehicle does in order to catch up to the object in the heavens that is also in motion (Mars) much like the way mechanical clock gears operate inside a watch.

The Mars vehicle is advanced day by day, night by night, thru each circuit, until it meets up with Mars. That is why the distance is so "great" - it's NOT a straight line, it's a series of overlapping circuits until it catches up with its destination.

Take a break from all of the doom and politics to watch the future of human space travel and experience history in the making.

Today will be the first 12.5km test flight of Starship SN9 after a month long wait of raptor static fires and a couple set backs

SN9 is the second prototype of Starship to fly 12.5km and perform a launch, belly flop/sky dive and attempt to land upright. Weather is looking very foggy but thats predicted to lift soon. Approximate time to liftoff is any time before 5pm central time....

Godspeed to SpaceX and SN9!!!

Link to the live stream! Enjoy!

oh well, Astro, in your video you tracked only through a distance and then you put all that bullshit DIY, for fuck shake!, if you want to prove something, do it right, show it all the way out, you did not, you could not actually, you failed.

So simple.:)

Look, OP, you can't call it a Starship, it is more like an amateur rocket with intend to bs all.

It wasn't bullshit. I tracked it out to most of the way to the moon. Try actually watching what I posted. The distance I tracked it out to is far beyond what you pathetic flat earthers think the dome is at.

That's a ridiculous claim and it's also irrelevant. The motion of the Earth does not factor into my calculations of the distance. You failed.

the curvature of the track of the stack of images is not due to parallax, it is due to perspective,
 Quoting: Deplorable Doomfan45

Because you say so? No that's not how that works. That's not how perspective works either. It's also irrelevant to the actual distance calculations. I was pointing out the curvature of the path because it does show that Earth is rotating. You being too stupid to understand it is irrelevant though. It doesn't actually factor into the distance calculations. You couldn't even understand that because you're so stupid. it did trigger you though didn't it? That's why you're complaining about it. Because it violates your deeply held beliefs. I love it. I will keep filming things like this and I will keep demonstrating with probe after probe that NASA really is launching things into deep space and that the Earth really is rotating.

Your gibberish about circuits above a flat Earth is completely false. It does not explain the parallax I observed. The parallax I observed isn't just the curvature of the path, it is instantaneous observations between two distant telescopes on opposite sides of the country. The curvature of the path that it took against the stars has nothing to do with that.
