At that time, the price should be raised to make up for any lost/spoiled/rotted product that was not shipped (plus a little just to say don't fuck with us anymore). Food is one thing people will pay dearly for if supply is short. With a kazillion mouths to feed, China doesn't have more than a few options available to them. They'll be back soon to ask that we fill those containers again. Be patient. |

China has food shortages now, there is a reason beyond economics for this. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79497457 The Chinese have a history of throwing away more food than any other people on earth. Yet, have you ever heard of a Chinese turbo tanker? That's an American thing . . . . the chinese are not fat, why, when they get all the food they can eat? |

Soon after, we had Covid. Except China has decided to rescind on the 1st trade agreement and have secured alternatives to their U.S imports, this story is BS. The issue at hand is rare earth metals with China as the only supplier due their ability to seperate heavy rare earth metals at an economical rate. Without rare earths, the manufacturing industry will cease to exist overnight. Hence, the reason why all your corporations capitulate to China and embrace Chinese values. Whomever controls rare earth metals controls the world. |

They don't want our shit. It's cheaper to receive an empty container because it can be refilled with their shit and sent right back over here. If they receive our products they have to actually do something with them which costs them more money than receiving an empty container. |

Quoting: Cap’n Obvious This started in June 2020. - Carriers rejected an estimated 177,938 containers known as TEUs (20-foot equivalent units) in October and November, according to analysis of data compiled from the Census Bureau and the ports of Los Angeles, Long Beach, California, and New York and New Jersey. Shipping carriers rejected U.S. agricultural export containers worth hundreds of millions of dollars during October and November, instead sending empty containers back to China to be filled with more profitable Chinese exports. The refusals come during the peak season for agriculture exports. While U.S. agricultural exports run continuously for 12 months, the months of November through March are critical.
