My co-worker lives in Buffalo and flew to see the Bills play Kansas this past weekend.

He said that when he returned, the national guard greeted him at the airport in NY and forced him to fill out a questionnaire. Where were you, how many people, etc. He was told that he either had to get a negative covid test or self quarantine for 10 days or face a $10,000 fine.

He acted like it was OK and went and got the test today and he was doing his part.

I wanted to ask him what it's like living behind enemy lines.

Do not confuse NY state with NYC. State is fine -ish, many people with good thinking. NYC is a different animal. Both in ideological and physical terms. Vast majority residents are liberals who think they know anything better than anybody in the country , because they are from NYC the centre of the universe.
