Second person who’s mentioned Friday as some sort of deadline If you haven’t got an answer yet, Friday is when all these Options contracts expire for a specific stock, so essentially.. what these hedge funds did was hold down these companies buy purchasing Option Put contracts and Shorting the stock through equities, what WSB is doing and all the retail investors who jumped on board are causing these “shorts” (the hedge funds) to cover their positions buy buying “Long” on a position by either purchasing Option Call contracts or going Long will be forced to cover their positions-and /or Hedge their original investment! This is what a Short Squeeze is, it’s why you see the big jumps up, forcing shorts to cover and buy long, will make the stock soar! Hedge fund (Morrison I think) has short contracts that come due Friday on a short they had on Game stop. Friday at 5 whatever the price is what they pay from 6 dollar ask. Seeker 2 |
