Famine, starvation, war, disease, etc. took care of the vast majority of these issues. The US and it's mega-farming came to the rescue by giving food to starving countries. Look at Ethiopia. Remember Band-Aid? The Ethiopian famine? Now the country's population has exploded. Ditto for India, China, etc. In addition, we created & shared cures for polio, malaria and a host of other diseases that previously wiped out large portions of the population. Now, these "developing" countries are burning fossil fuels, cutting down forest for wood & heat at an alarming rate and dumping their trash into the ocean. Have you seen pictures of Haiti? Literally trash just floating in canals out to the ocean. We continue sending aid, the continue breeding like rabbits and further trashing their country & the ocean. Why didn't we just build a blockade around Haiti when the earthquake & hurricanes hit so no one could go in. Problem solved. All we had to do was mind our own business & let the Japanese pillage the Chinese. Let tribal wars encapsulate Africa, the middle east & the sub-continent as well as the normal typhoons, disease, etc. and we wouldn't be dealing with 85% of the problems facing the world. Maybe if the US would have just minded it's own business & not attempted to exploit minerals under the guise of "democracy" or "in search of weapons of mass destruction" let the rest of the world die off, there would be less need for emissions controls. Instead, we had to do our "Christian" duty and out to help the rest of humanity and it slapped us in the face. It sounds harsh and I meant to be, but the reality is we have unfortunately created the quandary that is staring us in the face with a big ole gun pointed at our head. What say you? Why are we blaming people when Corporations did those things. Corporations want everyone to take the Blame for what they did. As individuals we probably as a group contributed less than 10% of the pollution and it would have been even less than that is we did not have to use the corporate manufactured products that exist as standards today. They seem to be setting about a campaign to get individuals to take the blame to heart for something corporations did. They even tricked people into using and buying their products which have polluted the planet. It was not the US who did this, it was corporations and China ,which is one big corporation under their government. |

IMHO The US is not responsible for that, what creates the problem of overpopulation is the false belief that individual choices Can be made with disregard for its consequences. Everyone think that can breed at will without thinking in the consequences of all doing it at the same time. Then when things get rough because of the thoughtless actions, instead of acknowledging the problem and facing the consequences, the bastards try to scape where things are better (in your case, the USA, but Chile has experienced an explosion of immigration also and it is causing lots of problems here, too). In many ways most humans aren’t superior in behavior than bacteria, just breeding out until the resources are spent, and then invading elsewhere repeating the cycle.
