ALl to limit personal travel. It has nothing to do with being green. In fact, it is the least green option available. Feeding horses and having them shit all over the place is more green than an electric car.

All about control and nothing else. Control on range. And eventually control on usage of travel altogether.

have to,oil will be gone by 2035,smartest business decision gm has made in many years.

bio oil will carry the future demand for gasoline but its a hard slog.very tight margins.
unless a miracle happens,im about to pour 4 grand into a 94 camaro and hope it last until i die of old age.
if you get a chance at an electric, you better take it.million mile potential.

You do not know what you are talking about. How long do you think those extremely toxic, wasteful lithium battery banks put into electric cars last?

Do some research before making ridiculous claims.

Not sure I buy this line, Mr. Hubbert. The oil was supposed to be gone a long time ago, and it's still flowing.

The easy oil, the gushers, the Texas Tea, well, sure, we plucked the low-hanging fruit first. They don't drill in the Gulf of Mexico because it's fun. Much less the North Atlantic or Alaska's North Slope. But that's where the biggest payday was.

Re: General Motors to Abandon Internal Combustion Engines
fuck electric

they suck

they kill the environment more than any internal combustion engine ever has, if you disagree you are quite ignorant still on the subject matter and parroting a narrative of lies

fuck GM, they suck at everything anyway

Re: General Motors to Abandon Internal Combustion Engines
My local State run utility was wonderful for years until the Obama years and almost bankrupted my State with the now failed 1st Nuclear plant in over 30 years. My State has closed many coal plants in just the last 5 years. The long term plan was Nuclear so the coal plants closed and now no nuclear so the new plan is solar / battery, Natural gas ( if our state can get the needed gas pipe line run ) and buying power from the out of State grid.

As I see it adding 220v charging in every garage across our state will be a nightmare. The grid will never handle the load and what will our power bill be if everyone is charging cars at night?

I liked my under $2 gas, and my at one time inexpensive electric from coal... Thanks Obama and now Joe...

I would love a commuter electric vehicle especially if I could plug my house into its battery bank.

But you also need an internal combustion engine for serious transportation, cross-country and sub zero temps.

I got a used 2006 prius last year with only 100k on it. It's great! I spend 25 to 30 on gas for the whole month!

homo motors - no caps intentional.

They can't figure themselves out, underscore one letter, but leave out the other. Gradient colors. That's a winner.

Like a Prius, err prius. beep beep.

then we abandon GM now

Some of us did that when GM screwed their stock and bondholder with the last Obama bailout. I still own classic Chevys, but you won't find a new GM vehicle in this driveway.

I worked on GM grounds, busing on their internal commuting system from building to building. I recall one gentlemen on the phone with his broker, ordering 1000 shares of GM. I asked him afterwards if that was wise.

I recall standing and watching within GM, Rick Wagner giving his speech to tens of thousands of employees. I told my co-workers, we'll be bankrupt within six months. I was wrong, it was nine months later.

It's not hard to position yourself ahead of the nonsense. Timing is always the bitch.
