Taste of What is To Come: China Burning All Religious books
[link to www.zerohedge.com (secure)]

In communist China, practicing a certain faith, printing, or even reading religious books could result in prison terms and abuse.

Spiritual believers in China - be it Christians, Buddhists, Uyghur Muslims, or Falun Gong practitioners - are faced not only with brutal suppression or forced-labor terms but also have their religious books burned or trashed at the hands of the CCP.

26 people in Jiangsu Province, China, were sentenced under the charges of “illegal business operations” for being involved in printing religious publications meant for internal circulation for the South Korean Good News Mission.

Belief in the Communist Party is the only religion allowed,” the official said, according to the report.

“Only the mailing of government-approved books is allowed. All books with ‘bad information,’ including religion, are not allowed to be dispatched. If public security authorities discover violations of these regulations, the company will be fined and closed down"

Re: Taste of What is To Come: China Burning All Religious books
Shortly, it will be ILLEGAL to buy or sell any religious book in the United States and that includes books that speak of "consipiracy theories" detrimental to the state and to its protected "minorities".

Once they shut it down, then they will rely on snitches to report that somebody is in possession of any of the illegal books.

They will also ban history books that support patriotic versions of the United States or claim that Western Civilization is superior or that there should only be 2 genders or that COVID is a fake pandemic.

People didn't think that an entire economy could be shut down and small businesses destroyed because of fear of the flu for those over 70 but it happened.

People didn't think that in less than one week, all Big Tech corps will collude to remove all possible competition but it happened.

Yup, that's true, that's why they're behind closing the churches already, but they have no problem keeping their wineries open or strip clubs. People need to wake up to what life will be like in the dem-comm party.

Exactly friend.

Normalcy Bias is a great danger.

We have crossed the threshold already into some twilight zone.

They have managed to ignore the First Amendment protection for freedom of speech and freedom of religion by fiat in a short time based on nothing but fear.

Now they are using fear to brand millions of Americans as domestic terrorists and supremacists.

Guess you disagree with both me and OP, who notes "Frog has been boiling for a long time and is nearly cooked."

Not sure how that can be refuted at this point, especially from someone who equates the 'face covering' w/ Hitler salute.

On paper we do but in reality we don't.

Churches have been closed or limited since March 2020 in much of the country.

Also, you can be canceled if you espouse anys viewpoint that is not progressive in a corporation today.

With the alignment of the corportacracy with the CCP - it is only a matter of time before there are literal book burnings and people being arrested for owning banned books.

Anti-religious people may applause that until they realize that even visiting a place like GLP - a conspiracy forum - also gets you arrested.

As pointed out by other posters in this thread, atheism (and scientism) is an religion.

Also, atheists favorite straw-man & red-herring is the “sky fairy”. The only religions that really have an “sky-fairy” are the abrahamic ones; and even then, it’s mostly only the exoteric abrahamic books that talk about an “sky-fairy”.

What really is religion anyway?

It is a metanarrative that frames the world to provide a reason to live in it and a guide for how.

There has never been nor never will be a time in history where there is no religion.

The secular religions of today - Statism, Progressivism, and now Critical Theory are replacements for traditional religions. They are in no way shape or form the absence of religion.

Note that Progressivism is quite willing to enforce orthodoxy and burn heretics at the state if need be.

There is still religion allowed in China

Article 36 of the Constitution of the People's Republic of China of 1982 specifies that:

Citizens of the People's Republic of China enjoy freedom of religious belief. No state organ, public organization or individual may compel citizens to believe in, or not to believe in, any religion; nor may they discriminate against citizens who believe in, or do not believe in, any religion. The state protects normal religious activities. No one may make use of religion to engage in activities that disrupt public order, impair the health of citizens or interfere with the educational system of the state. Religious bodies and religious affairs are not subject to any foreign domination.

The law affords protection to five officially sanctioned religions: the Buddhist Association of China, Chinese Taoist Association, Islamic Association of China, Three-Self Patriotic Movement and Chinese Patriotic Catholic Association. Religious groups are required to register with the State Administration for Religious Affairs (SARA, formerly known as the central Religious Affairs Bureau) or its provincial and local offices (still known as Religious Affairs Bureaus (RABs)). SARA and the RABs are responsible for monitoring and judging the legitimacy of religious activity.

Proselytizing is only permitted in private settings or within registered houses of worship. Proselytization in public, in unregistered churches or temples, or by foreigners is prohibited. Members of the officially atheist Communist Party are strongly discouraged from holding religious faith.

That's what I always tell people, if you're not religious, then that's your religion to be not religious, you're either agnostic or atheist, but it's still a belief system. No one is without a belief system.
