Silver is always going to be a safe long term investment and hedge against inflation.
Certainly there's people who would like to see its value go up, but it's not really possible for buying silver to be a "trap". It's one of the very few things with real value.

Companies and their stocks can come and go, paper money can be printed until its worthless (since it's no longer based on a precious metal standard), crypto is extremely volatile and not based on anything that exists in the real world, but gold and silver have always been a standard of value throughout the history of mankind and always will be.

If you think you're going to make a lot of money in a short time with silver you're probably going to be disappointed though.
