If you allow these TYRANT DEVILS to take your guns, you will be completely defenseless in a completely hostile nation. All the centers of power hate your guts, conservatives/gun owners. Antifa, BLM and the STATE will be free to do as they wish to you. You WILL be slaughtered. DO NOT EVER RELINQUISH YOUR GUNS.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78167239

Just understand, if this abomination were to pass, from here on out, you will not be able to get one night's peaceful sleep. It really WILL be just like the Soviet Union all over again.

You are absolutely in the right. Self-defense is THE most natural right a person has.

But that doesn't matter to power-drunken Leftist murderers.

All we gotta do is rename H.R. 127 into the AIM,SHOOT AND FIRE ACT...

That will likely sit the Democrat Mafia down long enough to make proper Funeral Arrangements.

PATRIOTS ARE GONNA PUT THE FUN BACK INTO FUNERALS SOON!!!!!

 Quoting: Jacqueline

Show some respect! That is the flag that Texas' Patriot Defenders flew before the Battle of Gonzales, which was the opening for Texas' War of Independence from Mexico.

[link to www.tshaonline.org (secure)]

The flag represented Texan's refusal to be disarmed by handing over the cannon to Mexico's commander of their troops in Texas.

Considering Communist Democrats are now asking for Americans to surrender their firearm ownership rights as guaranteed by the 2nd Amendment... There are strong parallels to be observed and lessons to be learned.

Not federally. It's up to the states. Many require a handgun registration. I don't think any require shotguns or standard long barrel rifles to be.

But you're still free to buy and sell privately without registration right?
 Quoting: -Kate-

Yes of course it's just a private transfer of property to another like a lawnmower etc.

What I meant in my original post is if you have done a background check your are on a list of firearm owners with all of your personal information in a database somewhere which to me is not any different from registration. After all who does a background check on a specific firearm without buying it?

[link to en.wikipedia.org (secure)] 2018, the most recent year for which data are available as of 2021, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC's) National Center for Health Statistics reports 38,390 deaths by firearm, of which 24,432 were by suicide and 13,958 were homicides.

[link to www.drugabuse.gov (secure)]
National Drug-Involved Overdose Deaths—Number Among All Ages, by Gender, 1999-2019. More than 70,000 Americans died from drug-involved overdose in 2019, including illicit drugs and prescription opioids.

A recent Johns Hopkins study claims more than 250,000 people in the U.S. die every year from medical errors. Other reports claim the numbers to be as high as 440,000. Medical errors are the third-leading cause of death after heart disease and cancer.

So why is no one harping on either of these things?

2/3's of the firearm deaths are suicides, and they would have kiled themselves some other way if they didn't have a gun.

So you're left with 13000 gun killings a year, in a country that has between 250,000 and 400,000 people killed by DOCTORS

If I were you and I were REALLY concerned about people dying I'd chose another cause, especially when it is estimated gun owners PREVENT over three million violent crimes every year in the USA. The simple fact is armed americans save many more lives than they take.

Social media echo chambers are like a relapsing addict, as long as you keep the language clean, the utilities payed and remember to spend half an hour clicking the like button.

Alcohol, tobacco, and firearms - three things the government has no place regulating.
 Quoting: WalrusRider

Exactly. Besides, the U.S. Constitution only specifies the Powers that the People grant to the government and states that those Powers not granted to the Federal government are reserved by the several States. As the U.S. Constitution does not grant the authority to regulate alcohol or tobacco, it is overreach. Also, the Constitution does not give the Federal government the authority to regulate education (Dept. of Education) as well as many other usurped powers.

This would unite the people who CAN defend freedom in a common cause, something they wont actually try gun confiscation or registration on a mass scale, both which are Unconstitutional and would legitimize violent resistance.. They'll do what they have been doing, slowly chip away, like with bump stocks, 80 percent lowers and SBR's
