Registration is always the precursor to confiscation.
Quoting: Interferon This is true but every purchase any of us have done through a background check means we are already registered. But you're still free to buy and sell privately without registration right? Yes of course it's just a private transfer of property to another like a lawnmower etc. What I meant in my original post is if you have done a background check your are on a list of firearm owners with all of your personal information in a database somewhere which to me is not any different from registration. After all who does a background check on a specific firearm without buying it?
