Re: Silver Thread: what is really going on
This is a thread to explain what the goal of the redditors is.

Silver is a hard asset, meaning it is real and tangible. it cant be created out of thin air, like cryptos or stock and bonds.

Therefore how a short squeeze works, is different from a stock.

many people have said it is trap, or citadel is recouping loses, etc. etc. etc. This isnt true.

you have to remember that silver is real and physical. keep that in your mind.

when you buy a coin from a silver dealer you are paying a premium to have it in your hand right now. so if the spot price is $25, you might pay $30 and you get the bonus of leaving with it right now. But, you buying it right now, depletes the REAL physical supply.

SLV is an ETF for FUTURE delivery (30 days from today). that means they have to have the PHYSICAL to match every contract bought. Because if you want to take delivery of the actual metal they have to have it available. THIS is the catch. most of the time the SLV doesnt have the actual metal. They have to go buy it from someone to match the number of contracts. So 30 days from now when people want their metal if the SLV doesnt have it. one of a few of things will happen...

1. they will bid the price up until someone sells the metal to them (moon shot silver)
2. they will fold like a cheap suit because they cant get the metal
3. they will cash out in dollars to anyone holding a contract.

the last 2 basically end the system

Either way buying an actual coin at a shop or buying SLV will eat up all of the available supply putting the big boys in a HUGE bind. But we won't find any of this out until the next delivery date.
 Quoting: mr dull socks

If SLV doesn’t have the physical silver they will pay you in fiat, this is the way it has worked since SLV came on the scene. The only time they HAVE to deliver physical silver is when the contract is above a certain size, which practically no one outside of billionaires or institutional investors could approach. Plus, when they pay you in fiat, the amount is defined by whatever the fix is that day, NOT the fix price plus the premium added in the retail market.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79234724

yes. if you get 100 ounces they will pay out in fiat. If you get above 5000 ounces you can demand the metal. until about a year ago no one ever demanded the metal. that recently changed and now people are demanding delivery on their 5000 ounce contracts. if they fail to deliver on these contracts it WILL end them.

that is the game we are currently seeing.

Re: Silver Thread: what is really going on
Today we witnessed the biggest gap between physical silver and paper in history.

If this continues, and there's every reason to suspect it can, paper silver will get hurt.

But the biggest event of all will be when dealers start paying well above spot for scrap. Then paper will be finished unless they let the spot rise.

In such a scenario all the paper in the world won't have any impact on spot prices.

yeah it is funny that so many people on this thread dont understand the physical nature of this play. they are stuck in a stock market mind set. and dont realize that the physical is what will kill it all.

There is no way to manipulate this once enough people get wise to what to do...

buy physical and it destroy the banks and the manipulation.

Re: Silver Thread: what is really going on
to give some perspective, on thursday over 1 billion ounces of silver were allocated to the market. There are only 800 million ounces mined in a YEAR.

so more silver contracts were issued IN ONE DAY then is mined in an entire year.

there is no way to cover this with real metal.
 Quoting: mr dull socks

That is very interesting.

Any idea how much is allocated on a daily/monthly/annual basis? Or was a one time unusually large allocation?

Thanks for all the info btw!

I love silver bullion!

average day is 50-60 million ounces. these contracts can be rolled over to the next month so not all of it will be delivered. but this was one of the largest dumps in history

Ur shilling deluxe. Silverprice is lowest its ever been in human history (compared to M2, amount of money in existance).
Pumping silver would not only break hedge funds. It would break entire BANKS.

So, who paid you to post this shit? JP morgans? Bank of America?

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79859560

The /r crowd has better each own 50,000 shares, if they want physical delivery.

I believe that's in SLV's TOS.

Even then, I think they can just tell shareholders to fuck off, and throw BennyBux at them in lieu of delivery.

Like COMEX.

Bottom line buy physical silver and gold not paper silver or gold. That includes the SLV and the PSLV don't just no.

The real magic will happen when the industrial users of silver NEED to source actual, physical silver bullion in order to make their i-phones, i-pads, solar panels, medical devices, mirrors, electronics, switches etc.

The question I like to ask is how much money will Apple, a 1.5 Trillion dollar company shell out to get their hands on physical silver because without it they can no longer make their products...

Can someone explain to me why having to pay twice the price for Physical Silver then paper silver is legal?

How can an IOU for 1oz of silver be cheaper than 1oz of silver especially when you have to pay the security and storage for the 1oz of silver that you owe me?

YES. So we are in a period of outing the hedgers and scammers who play Middle-Man and skim money from people's money. Hedgers and scammers make the working class poorer and puts money in the pockets of thieves.

Has gone on too long. Soros, the Captain, started this 25 years ago and had lots of followers. None as deliberate and greedy as he was. Then what he did with his money was more criminal. Huge burden on the US Justice System.

Bottom line: US is close to collapse. What fills the void?

There is never enough physical supply to cover the paper demand. This is the big flaw in the system, that there is always enough balance between buyers and sellers to negate an actual Call for physical Resulting in a crash for lack of on hand material. The general population buying coins 1 or 2 at a time will only deplete the retailer stock but not create enough shortage in the financial system To effect the big players.

That being Said, over the course of several years if The population Continues to purchase and Physical silver is drained from circulation Then prices will go up mostly for the people who are purchasing it, including businesses who require the material for production. This in turn raises prices for the retail consumer so it is a long ended way of biting yourself in the ass.

Yes the system is manipulated. Always has been. Is it right ? No. A short squeeze may work to force some legitimacy into the system but people have to be prepared To pay higher prices for products in the long run.

Except for the fact there has been no real demand for stuff and we are in a recession heading to depression. Beyond that some time ago they found away to mitigate the need for most precious metals in making electronics and solar panels. The article was posted here a few years back and from what I remember a Japanese company found someway of using copper and nickel I believe to make a conductor better than gold or silver for solar panels. I could be wrong about the composition but I firmly remember that if the silver price went high enough the new technology would just switch to it instead of using silver until prices fell again.
